For the last few days, the top of my tummy,on the left has been very very sore to the touch, now ive developed a burning sensation in the same area...ive been up and down til 4 am the last few nites, the burning gets so bad,i try to change position from left to right,etc...til it subsides, then it will later wake me up again. I am due july 4th,im to the point right now thinking should i call my dr and go to the ER or is this normal? This isnt my first pregnancey, and ive never experienced this before. Does anyone know?? There are moments I dont think I can take it anymore, then itll subside....
thanks so much for the input!:)

I'm due July 19 and I have the same issue. It started on my left side but now it's also on my right side. It's like a burning, almost tearing sensation. My dr. told me it was just the muscles around the uterus stretching and that all the nerves that run through there are firing. She said it's normal and there's no treatment for it. I'd still talk to your doctor and maybe see about taking some tylenol.

It never hurts to call your doctor, and that's free! Call tomorrow and talk to the nurse to see what he/she thinks. It could be that the baby has a heel or something just right up against a rib or something as harmless as that. It never hurts to call, though. Usually they even have someone after hours where you can call and leave a message and they'll return your call. If it concerns you enough, then go ahead and call the office to geth that number. Keep us posted.

I have something similar, but it is always on my right side when I lay down. The doctor thinks it might be my gall bladder, but there is really nothing that you can do until after you have the baby. I am just hoping that it goes away after my baby is born. ( I am due in August) My Chiropractor just thinks that the baby is putting pressure on my gall bladder and that is why it hurts when I am trying to sleep. Getting up and walking around helps take away the pain, but I have had many sleepless nights for the past month.

Sleeping on my left side has helped a bit.......

Hi K
I had something like that and IT HURT! I never had it with my first three and then when I had my little girl last year, I had it so bad I thought something was terribly wrong. The doc told me I was having ligament pains. I thought no way, this is not just ligament pains, but it actually turned out to be just that. Here's a link for you to check out.

I hope this helps and it never hurts to talk to your doctor just to be sure!
