JC Penney has nice, not too expensive, business attire. I would also check Parisian (not sure where you live). Their clearance racks are incredible. Good Luck with the new job!

Many dry cleaners do alterations. I would check out Dots for low priced clothing and Kohls--the clearance racks are sometimes 80% off and they have nice clothes too. Good luck!

Burlington Coat factory does alterations, suppose to even if you didn't purchase from their store. and you may even be able to pick some clothes up there also. But pay attention, may have small stains, etc.

Many dry cleaners will hem and repair clothing for a reasonable fee.
