Hi everyone, we just found out we are expecting in november and we are looking for a dr for our prenatal care that excepts medicaid, If you have any suggestions that would be very helpful. Also was wondering If anyone knew anything about medicaid, the planned parenthood nurse wrote on my paper to request an ultrasound will medicaid cover this since it was odered by a nurse/dr?

What can I do next?

Hey A.,

My name is V. and I dont know if they accept medicaid or not, but you could call and see if they do.....###-###-####. This is the number to Drs. Hutchinson and Hanna. I used Dr. Hutchinson for the care and birth of my son who is now 8 weeks old and I loved it! Him and his staff are wonderful. They are over at Providence Northeast. Might be worth a shot! Hope this helps.

hey A.
if you are close to the bush river road area dr phillip levin with midlands obgyn is awesome, he accepts medicaid, you can set up an appt. with him and they start your bloodwork and ultrasound, they will proceed to give you a piece of paper that states you expected due date. then you take that to dhec in lexington or richland county and fill out the application for medicaid. when you are accepted they will retroactivate your card to cover the cost of your first prenatal visit. i hope this helps you out! congrats on the new baby!

I believe that my OB takes Medicaid. His name is Thomas Carzoli (he helped me through 2 very difficult preganacies - he's wonderful). His number is ###-###-####. If you want to get info about their coverage of Medicaid and how it works - call the office and ask for Tammy. You can tell her that I referred you.

If it is convenient for you, Lexington Women's Care accepts medicaid and has wonderful doctors, midwifes, and nurses. The facility is very nice as well. I delivered there in January and had the best experience!! Medicaid covers quite a bit and if it is medically necessary for you to have multiple ultrasounds I'm sure they will cover it. Also, I highly recommend Palmetto Pediatrics, they have wonderful doctors and service. Hope this helps.
