I need to loose several pounds about 50! I have a 2 1/2 year old, I work full time and my husband works beyond full time. By the time I get my daughter from daycare and go home and get dinner cooked its 7:30pm. My husband eats the leftovers at 9 pm. I need to lose weight and it seems that anyhting that I do doesn't work cause I eat rather late at night. I need some advice! Please!
First off do you eat during the day? Hopefully so because if you don't that might be why you aren't losing any weight. Also if you have snacks during the day try to make them healthy ones like fruit, applesauce stuff like that. As for eating late I personally don't think that would affect the results of trying to lose weight as long as you exercise some time.

I am a big fan of Weight Watchers. I have had 5 children and I am a little less then 10 lbs from my ideal weight. You can buy an at home kit. Once you learn about the point system and start journaling what you eat, it becomes second nature. Also learning about what to eat is a good start. Since I have started watching my fiber intake, it has made a big difference. Also, eating yogurt helps with belly fat. You learn what works and what doesn't. Not everything is for everybody. The important thing is try to eat as healthy as you can. Drinking water and staying away from sweet drinks is the best thing to do. Diet sodas the worse things to drink, they can actually cause you to eat more. Not everything is for everybody. You need to find out what works for you. Good luck.

It is hard to lose weight with a schedule like yours! You must be exhausted!
A fast ticket to weight gain is to eat late and then go to sleep . I don't really know what your daytime hours are- but is there a hour a day you can devote to cardiovascular exercise? To lose weight, you need cardio- maybe you could by a treadmill, or a stairclimber and do that at home, or take up jogging when your husband is home to watch the little one (or buy a jogging stroller). Ideally , you would do strength training twice to three times a week also. Denise Austin has some great videos.
Diet is important- to lose weight you need to cut out sugar and white flour. No trans-fats but healthy fats are good in moderation (i.e.- olive oil, alvacados). Try to limit alchohol to one or two glasses a week. Most importantly try to remember that you are changing your diet for life- not just the time it takes to lose 50 pounds. Everyone gives in to a treat now and then. Don't let that be your excuse to get back on the junk food wagon. I found an excellent book called "Eat Clean Diet" by Tosca Reno.
I guess my last piece of advice is that if you have to eat late, make sure it is a light meal- maybe some soup or a tuna fish sandwich or something like that. Make your bigger meal breakfast and then a moderate lunch and a light dinner.
Hope this helps -there is no easy way to lose weight. If there were, we would all be thin!

I did a 6-week plan with Jenny Craig and learned a lot. My husband and I have changed our diet based off of the Jenny Craig plan and it has worked wonderful. We do still excersize when we can, which is not much maybe 20 min - 3 times a week, but we are working on that. But I think some of these changes without excersize will work for you.
We always eat a cup of fruit with breakfast, usually with a bowl of cereal or eggs.
We eat a salad with lunch, usually with a lean cuisine meal.
We eat a lot of veggies with dinner, usually with a piece of chicken, pork or a very small piece of steak. We usually make either rice or a small roll with dinner also. We like to saute the veggies in just a tablespoon of butter and put whatever seasoning we are in the mood for on them.
We eat snacks between meals, but it is usually just a granola bar or something that is 100 calories or less.
We cut out a lot of red meat. We usually only eat it twice a week, if that.
Our breakfasts we still keep down under 200 calories. Our lunches are usually under 300 calories, and our dinners are under 400 calories. We don't feel deprived at all. We still eat out on the weekends with friends. We just try to add fruit and veggies to every meal because they are considered free foods and just make sure everything besides the fruit and veggies is lower calories.
I know it is hard to do with kids, but our daughter still eats whatever she sees us eating. She loves bell peppers, any color, that's her veggie of choice for dinner and we usually make her a jelly sandwich, chicken nuggets, or give her some lunch meat and she is happy with that. She loves salad and fruit. I usually cut up some watermelon or strawberries for her for breakfast and lunch, those are her favorites.
I hope this helps a bit. It can be so hard to make a change like that in a family setting, especially if there is no time. Good Luck!

Maybe you can prepare some meals in advance a few days a put them in the fridge or freezer to warm up. Do you have a crock pot? The night before prepare a meal, put it in the fridge and stick it in the crock pot on low when you leave inthe morning. Chicken, beef or pork or something like that with veggies and it will be ready when you get home and not be considered "left over" when your husband gets home. Maybe cut up some lettuce and have salas for dinner with some chicken, turkey or ham thrown on top. If you eat a late night snack, try some cut up veggies, bowl of cereal or something that won't make you feel "guilty" about eating so late. I have found out that kids are so easy to feed sometimes but you have o also take care of yourself. If you have a salad for dinner, make something fun for your daughter like breakfast for dinner.....cook her up a special pancake or something that's quick and easy and you both have it made. Dinner doesn't always have to be what you eat, but how you eat it....as a family and enjoy it! Sometimes when I want an easy night, I'll give my kids something I know they will like and eat, I might have a salad and sandwich and tell my husband he can have the same or pick something up onthe way home. Chicken and tuna salad keep for days if you make it in advance. HAve some crackers or put it on toast. Keep fresh fruit in hand for a nice fruit salad. Sometimes I will cut up some pineapple, cataloupe and honeydew and other fruits in season or that just taste good and have a eat that with a salad or sandwich. Then you can make mini fruit kabobs on a toothpick for your daughter, she might like that. An added treat is to mix marshmellow cream and cream cheese for a dip....YUMMY. I know a lot of ths is easier said than done, but if you get into the habit of doing it, it can work. On the weekends or inthe evening go in a walk with your daughter. Make up some fun "areobic" dances you can do with your daughter to her favorite TV shows. Involve your child and if she has fun, she'll want to do active things with you and keep you moving. Have her count and you run up the stairs, do sit-ups or something like that. I have 3 kids, 10, 4 and 2. I know how hectic things can get. Good Luck and I hope you can find something that can work for you.
