Are thinking public? Well take him to any MedExpress clinic for a physical and that will take care of it. In a meantime look for the address of your school and find out where you need to go to register him. You can do this online and It'll be done in one day. Looking for a private? Depending where you are living. I know christian schools have ongoing enrollment. I drive by an Episcopalian School in Boynton Beach when I go to work and I see the sign outside that they are still enrolling kids.
Good luck!
You make a phone call to the nearest school. Public or private, make an appointment and bring documentation with you: birth certificate, passport and medical records. All will be required when you enroll. And do it now so you will know he's enrolled. Bus schedule, lunch fees, supplies, etc. It's a lot of work; but make a list and get through it! You'll be prepared for when your little ones go to school....There are also many home school groups.
Get on the computer to google home schooling in your area. You may find that an alternative to the public/private system. Also less stress for your brother, being in a new environment.
Blessings, S.
I see you're in Palm Beach County... you could call the PBCSD (school district) at ###-###-#### and listen for "student info" prompts OR go to www.palmbeach.k12.fl.us and locate the proper "HOME SCHOOL" for the address where your brother will be living.
The district requires a proof of address (ie. utility bill, mortgage statement/lease or rental agreement) and will also require medical records (proof of shots). I'm not sure about birth certificates/passports. I do know that proof of citizenship is not required.
Good luck! Many schools have open enrollment during the summer, call first... and the earlier he can register the less stressful the first day should be. (Don't wait until Aug. 18th to register!)
