Hi moms. My son is just about 4 1/2. He loves anything PowerRanger, Batman, Superman, Spiderman and Transformers. The problem I have is that I don't mind him getting a few of these items for Christmas, but I don't want all of his presents to be related to action hero's( I know it's just a stage). I have purchased a few super hero items in the form of books, robots, and toys, but i'm not sure what else to get him. I do have another son who just turned 3 so it's a problem affecting both of them. He likes all sports, but i'm looking for things to do inside during the winter months. He loves to draw so I was going to get art stuff, and I am going to add to our mega blocks sets b/c he still plays with that. I'm just looking for other ideas to spark creativity and exposure to non-super hero things...:-).

What can I do next?

Board games are fun for this age - candy land, shoots and ladders, the preschool stuff.

We got our about to turn 5 yo a CD player this year, he has been asking for one. He loves music.

Remote control cars (they make 'preschool' versions that are easier to operate!)

The Magna doodle is a big favorite with my youngest two

I can't help other than that, my sons other present is a Transformers thing LOL

What about the Geo Trax train sets, a "kids" game system (think V-Teck or Leapster), a guitar, a remote control car, a tool shop, or moon sand? I got my son alot of board games for us to do together at night for Christmas.

How about Tinkertoys? They have a great building set at Target that I put on my 4 year old son's list for some family members. Here is the link. I think it looks so fun!

A great gift for any little one is the fisher price preschool table. One part of it has a desk and a little screen that teaches numbers, letters, shapes, and phonics. It also has a clock on it to teach time. You can flip the desk up and it is a piano underneath. Both of my girls love this table one is 4 1/2 and the other is only 15 months old.

my son is 3 1/2 and i also have a 4 year old nephew, the vtech vsmile system is awsome, if you can find the pocket version it is even better, b/c ou can use it in the car or at home, just use the plug that comes with it, so not only can he play games from spiderman and such but he is also learning, they are very educational (my son picked up things very quickly, in fact there are some games he is better at then me) and they love theirs so much we also bought one for the house, that way they can both play at the same time and the same game.
