I have to return to work on Feb. 22nd and need to find childcare for my 6-mos old baby girl and my 4-yr. old daughter. I am trying to find affordable childcare. My 4 yr old was attending Merryhill School up until I was laid off. I wasn't happy with the fact that she was in a combined 3-4 yr old class because she didn't seem to be learning like she did in her 3 yr old class when she was 3. My preference would be to have someone come to my home to keep them and then just take them on MDO type of events. I don't know how much a reasonable rate would be for 2 children, hourly or daily or weekly rate. I would want the person to work with them both so they are learning, keep up with their laundry, do light housework (such as keeping things picked up in the living room and the kids rooms, dishes during the day, cleaning any spills and or spitup on floors, maybe do grocery shopping and/or possibly helping with dinner or maybe doing dinner prep work (this is just a possibility). This would be M-F, but if I don't work at the office, then I would not need them to come (or would not pay them if not watching my children). Anyone currently available, please let me know ASAP. Please provide day care centers in Plano that you like as well. We also have a 9 yr old son who gets out of school at 2:45p but we could put him in PASAR or this person could go pick him up. I'm not as concerned about the 9 yr old since we have an option for him.

If you would want to take them to an in-home daycare try, www.pickofnorthtexas.com. It is an association of home daycare providers. You might be able to find someone. Good Luck!

My son attends Windhaven Academy in Plano (Communication prkwy and the Tollway). Both of my kids went there for a period of time, but now my older son is in 1st grade. Anyway, they are a Christian based school, it's not too heavy. Runs us 172.00 a week. Good luck....

It sounds like you need a traditional Nanny, you should be calling an agency.

Also, some great centers in the Plano area are: Carpe Diem, Cambridge Academy, and Children's Courtyard.

If you are still looking for some one. The nanny I used for my son for 1 year beginning when my son was 9 months old is available. Since she left us (almost 2 years ago) - she has worked with families with more children and a variety of ages. She did a good job with our son and we were happy with her work. (Not sure how she will be if you are not going to guarantee hours for her - but it may work - you never know).
