I plan on having her party in the park (that has a playground) but I was wondering if anyone could suggest some other fun games for the little ones. It will be a Tinkerbell theme and we have gift bags made with toys, fruit and candy. The childrens ages will range from 1 - 7. I just want to make her birthday special. Unrelated to that: If you have any suggestions on how to make the car ride to and from daycare each day fun and interesting for her please let me know. I'm trying to make car rides fun for her because she does not like being in that car seat. Thank you.

What can I do next?

No ideas for the birthday, but as far as the car rides go...we listen to cds from her favorite Nick Jr shows. So we are constantly singing Choo Choo Soul or the wheels on the bus. Fun times for me and her.

I just went to a party where a lady came in dressed as a fairy godmother and she brought a trunk full of Disney princess costumes and knight costumes for boys. She had a pop-up tent that looked like a castle and the boys stood like guards while each princess was introduced. the kids got to keep fairy wands and swords as their party favor.

For her birthday you could buy a pinata....they sell em now so you dont have to beat it, everyone grabs a string and pulls! You could buy some bubbles for the kids to play, or just bring some balls and stuff to play with. We had a party at a park for my daughters 3rd birthday and we did a pinta, played pin the nose on elmo, ate pizza, had cake and they played at the park the rest of the time! Party was about 2 hrs and everyone had a blast!

As for driving maybe you could let her pick out a few special toys that are car ride toys only. Or a few special books. The dollar store usually has pretty good little toys or books for stuff like this......Good luck!

We have played "Fairy tag" and you could make your own pin the wings on tinkerbell game and hang it on a tree.

As for the car ride: I take empty Kleenex brand tissue boxes (remove the plastic pieces around the top first) and fill with small toys (I like to rotate the toys and put some away for a few weeks, this way they think they get a new box). My kiddos have always loved digging around in their very own car toy box. We are not in the car very much these days, but I always make them for our toddlers for a long car ride. I have even made a craft box (from the same tissue boxes) with crayons and small pieces or pads of paper, and even a glue stick (we like to use the twistable crayons in the car, they seem to melt less).
Hope this helps!

Hi G., You can always do Musical chairs Kids love this even the little kids. Or Freeze dance. you play a sonmg and every one is dancing and when the music stops you gotta freeze in what ever way you stoped who ever moves gets out to see who can last till the end with out moving when the music stops. you can play egg race. each person has a spoon and an egg. you put the egg on the spoon and hold it with your hand and have to try and walk to the finish line with out having your egg break. Also you could put little peices of paper into ballons and have the kids pop them by sitting or stompimg on them and like write 10 cents on the paper or like free hugs. just something fun. It doesnt have to be complicated. Kids are easy to entertain. Good luck hope some of these help.

Have you considered having entertainment? My husband and I are professional Clowns. We offer facepainting, balloon sculptures, comedy magic shows, Glitter Art Tattoos (these are great because the last 5-7 days), friendship bracelets, along with fun interaction and games. We've entertained at birthday parties and large events like the Plano Balloon Festival.

Alto of times people hire us to perform a 1/2 hr magic show and then 1 hr of facepainting and balloon art. The kids have a ball.

Our prices are very reasonable (we have four great kids of our own so we know how expensive things can get) and we do our best to work within a person's budget.

Please feel free to take a look at our website at www.freewebs.com/bubblesandwowza for samples of our work along with video testimonials from satified customers regarding our performance.

Give us a call at ###-###-#### if you have any questions at all.

Hope you have a great party whatever you decide to do.

Regarding the car ride situation, I have found that if you play music that the kids like and sing along with them they are pretty happy. You end up knowing all the songs and are pretty tired of singing by the time you get to your destination, but they are happy. Hope that helps.

Hi G.,

On the other subject....when I was taking my 2 to day care/school, etc. (35 years ago - they were 1 & 2 when I started this) I made up little songs and we'd sing all the way. (Actually I started singing the songs on the way out the door) It was fun and contagious. I'd sing it for you, but ..... guess I could make a tape or if you have a voice mail somewhere, I can call and sing it on there.

The words are:
It's a beautiful day for singin' a song
It's a beautiful day for right'n a wrong
It's a beautiful day for livin' and laughin'
It's a beautiful, beautiful day.

My grandkids do this same song now (and they're 13 and 10).
