Hello there!
My family and I moved to Vegas this past summer and I still don't know a soul here. I have attempted to become friendly with my neighbors but they seem to want to keep to themselves. They don't even like to spend time outdoors let alone visit with others.
I have a 7 y/o son who attends William Wright Elementary and I also have a 3 y/o daughter. I am a SAHM and I really need to get to know other ladies in the neighborhood.
I may not drive a Hummer or BMW, wear designer glasses and live in a 4000 sqft home, but I am a nice person, friendly and willing to get to know you.

I have a 3 yo boy. I live in the southwest not too far from you. We could get together or you might be interested in joining my playgroup we meet at least once a week and most of the time more often. http://sahm.meetup.com/1657/ we call ourselves mommyville. It's a sahm group and most of the kids are around 3 or 4. ~V.
I'm not familiar with Mtns Edge and I'm a working mom, but I wouldn't mind my daughter having another playmate. My oldest girl is 3 1/2 (youngest is 10 months in February).

I'm a movie buff, too. I'd like to do more outdoor activities with my children and I need to get in shape.

I belong to a GREAT mother's group http://sahm.meetup.com/1657/?gj=sj3 . Most of the moms are SAHMs, although a few work, like me. They are a very friendly, outgoing crowd, who have playdates, parties, mother's nites out, tours of kid places, etc. When I first joined one of the meetup groups, I was a little shy, but I forced myself to post a few responses on the message board, and then forced myself to go to a playdate. It was the best thing I could have done. My kids made some great friends, but even more exciting, is the fact that I made some great friends too. My son just turned 5 in December, and my daughter will be 4 in March. A majority of the kids in the group are under 5, but not all. There are a few older boys that your son could get to know too. Check out our website, you won't regret it if you really want to make some friends. Oh, I almost forgot, most of the moms live in the southwest part of the valley... close to the Mts Edge area. =)

I am a sahm of a very smart and "inquisitive" 2 year old named Kassie. I have lived in Vegas my whole life so I understand what you mean about the neighbors.
I don't live right near you (lake mead and rainbow area) but I am willing to meet up and do things. My daughter and I love to be outside and she adores going to the park!
