Need a Mom Suport Group

I am not sure where you live, but there are a variety of moms groups on www.meetup.com--I noticed that the Libertyville one is geared for women with younger babies, but they have meetings pretty much all over the Chicago area.

There is also something called Mothers and Company but I only know of a southside chapter in Beverly/Morgan Park: www.bapa.org/article.asp?articleid=305

There is also something called MOPS, but you should know that it is faith-based. Their website is www.mops.org/

Finally, I know of Family Focus--they have several centers all around the Chicago area. Their website is www.family-focus.org/about/index.htm My sister goes to the Highland Park drop in center, which provides a lot of support for her. They are flexible about payment and also offer a sliding scale arrangement.

I am not sure where you are located. I am in search of the same. I have contacted MOPS in the area... but haven't heard back but the more I hear from general public... it might be too pushy with religion. Next is MOMS International - I just joined the New Lenox, Orland, Frankfurt branch. If this is something of interest please let me know. Next is PACES. I have inquired within but have yet to get my butt out and go to a meeting. :)

I met some moms through Gymboree, and our church. I also had suggestions to go to the mommy and me classes with the local park and rec.

It depends on your location. I know people who use the meet up site (mentioned by someone else). If you're in Hyde Park, there is lots of support available. If you need more info, just let me know.
