I am looking for a jeweler that we can trust to possibly make a custom piece of jewelry. Does anyone have anyone they would recommend?

There is a jeweler in Carrollton, at Trinity Mills & Marsh Lane (southwest corner) called Roc Rawlings. The jeweler is Roc and his wife Denise helps run the business as well. He made a custom wedding band for me and is very reasonable. He makes beautiful custom pieces. He has been at the same location for a long time (I've been married nine years & he did my wedding band).

Oscar and his wife have owned this place for about 22 years. I worked in the jewelry business so I know who's good and who to steer clear of. Both are GIA Grads and both run this store. They are great at fixing things and at desiging and making items from collaberation stage of design through to the finished piece. And I've always found their prices to be very fair.
I would at least visit with them before you make your final decision.
Another designer in the Dallas/Turtle Creek area is Matthew Trent -- 2508 Maple Avenue, Dallas, TX 75201; Studio: 800-292-6842 (matthewtrent.com). He's very creative and highly thought of in the industry as well.

I highly reccomend Raymond Abraham. He custom made my engagement and wedding bands, and has made several pieces of jewelry for my Mother-in-law and sister-in-law as well. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is INCREDIBLY reasinably priced and does amazing work........and is very trustworthy. He is on the Corner of Forest and Preston (I think it's Preston Forest square) and he is upstairs at the very end (if you go upstairs, turn right, and he is all the way down). I don't have his phone number with me, but i'm sure you could look it up.

i worked at jared the galleria of jewelry and actually spent most of my time in the repair shop - i have helped with many custom jobs and they do wonderful jobs (i let them do a piece for my mom that turned out absolutely beautiful) - i'm sure they all do a wonderful job but i know the guys at collin creek are fabulous - ask for jeff - he is the repair shop manager and has been workng on jewelry for a long time
We use Griffin Jewelery in McKinney (there is one at Eldorado and Lake Forest, Griffin II) and they did a beautiful custom job on my wedding ring 2 Christmas' ago as well as on a slider for my Mom.
