Making a paste with Baking Soda and Hot Water then scrubbing with an old tooth brush has always worked best for me
Our microwave is over our stove. I need a good degreaser or something that will get rid of the gunk that has collected under the microwave from all the cooking. It's pretty caked on and it also managed to splat past the vents into the microwave. I can't believe I've let it go this long. Any recommedations? Thanks!

I'm actually not sure where you can buy it, but we got a free sample of Fuller Brush Company Range Hood & Filter Cleaner and it is amazing at cutting grease. Have never seen anything like it. Also, it does not smell awful, which is a big deal for me.
Any degreasing cleaner shoudl work- I like either hot dish soap or 409. The ticket is what tool you use. My tool of choice is the 'magic eraser'. I use it on everything and it works great! I actually just cleaned my range hood the other day with one. I also use it for cleaning the bathroom- especially the tub and floor areas. The magic erasers does great on boat seats, little tykes plastic, car interiors, coffee makers/pots, and anything else you can think of. The only trick is to be sure to rinse and wipe dry.
At Home Depot they have Zepp Orange Cleaner, that's industrial strength orange oil, it works for really hard cleaning and that cuts grease nicely (& smells better than most cleaning stuff!)
For inside the microwave, nuke a clean, wet sponge or washcloth & it should wipe out no problem.
Good luck.
