Hi J.,
You didn't specify if you were looking for an optometrist or an opthmalagist. Most people usually go to an optometrist to get their vision checked, get glasses and/or contacts, and to get screened for eye diseases. When there is a problem, then most people usually see an opthmalagist, who will have had more extensive education in eye diseases and can perform eye surgery if needed. You can go to an opthmalagist for regular routine eyecare, too - check your insurance, it may actually be cheaper for you to see a specialist (opthmalagist).
If you just need an optometrist, my son and I both go to Choice Eye Care in Lisle (phone ###-###-####) and see Dr. Stazak. I have a tricky contact lens prescription, and he brought me back every week for six weeks to tweak the precription until it was right - which meant a minimum of six pairs of trial lenses at no cost to me. After I paid for my initial visit, the other visits were no charge. My contacts were competively priced (I paid a dollar more than I would have at 1800contacts, for example).
They are located at 4760 Main St in Lisle, on the corner of Burlington and Main. (From Bolingbrook you'd drive North on IL 53, turn Right on Burlington and follow to Main. Choice Eyecare will be on your left and there's a small parking lot behind the center (on Burlington) or street parking on Main St. You can also take 53 to Ogden, go East on Ogden, turn right on Main. Then you'd be on the right side of the street for street parking. The accept most insurances.
