Ok, I'm surprising my husband on his birthday weekend by signing us up for "the Great Urban Race". Its like the show Amazing Race, only its local, you do it in under 5 hrs. Its our favorite show, and have always said "one day we will be on it" but we have small kids and can't take that much time off right now, etc....so this is the perfect birthday idea for him. Anyway, part of the fun is having funny team costumes so I'm looking for ideas. (An example would be like Elvis and Pricilla). Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

My first thought was a Chicken and an Egg, but those might be tough costumes to run in. How about Dorothy & Toto, or Jesse & Woody (from Toy Story) a cat & mouse or Mouse & cheese, bat & ball. Good Luck

I have twins and one year I dressed them up as Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss. I thought that with this being a race and all it might be a great idea for you because the costumes were simple to make... Red Clothes, blue shoes, blue hair, and white faces. We had a blast and they were too cute. One year they were pirates and another year they were 2 peas in a pod!

Hope this helps :)

You've gotten some awesome ideas. How active do you have to be? Will you be really racing? That actually sounds fun!
I would think in terms of custume restraints.

How about a pirate and a wench?

I hope you have a great time. Let us know what you do!

You've already gotten some great suggestions - I'd go with easiest to create and easiest to run in if it's actually a physical race. Is there a duo that you guys love, or a pairing of something that you're already a fan of? That would make it more special if it already has a connection. Good luck and have fun!
