I'm no expert at sewing even though I've done it in the past for fun, it's been years. I would like to start sewing again and looking for a cheap sewing machine to help me kick start this new abition, any ideas where to get one?

my 13 year old sews & we bought her one at joann fabrics for about $100. i know they also have one at walmart that's about the same price. if you go to joann's, they will advise you which brand/type would be best for you and your price range and ambition.
I bought a Brother 6000 off of overstock.com for $139. It's easy to use and has lots of stitches. Be sure to go to currentcodes.com and see if overstock is having any discounts too. I got 7% off my purchase.

I not know of a machine but on Harry Hines there sell rebuilt ones at Best There are two stores there with ware houses full of fabrics. Unless I really know what I am looking for I walk
away empty because there is so much to look at but it is a lot of fun. I love to sew too but takes me forever to find the materials and what I want to make. I feel bad my granddaughter lives with me and I never seem to make the time to sew for her. Years ago I sewed for her and sent them to her mom not knowing for sure what length of things. But then they get an age they do not want any home made stuff. They have classes at this Richland sewing center, 850 Pipeline Rd, Hurst 76053 ###-###-#### I would love to go and get involved but I work a Home Day Care all week and have the granddaughter all week ends.
It is funny but my husband got me brand new and very cheap at the pawn shop.
Wal-Mart has several decent machines for under $100. Then, there's always eBay! :) Good luck, and happy sewing!
