I need to do 30 hrs. of community service for school A.S.A.P. I have to perform the community service at a non-profit organization. However, I have had issues trying to find a location to do my community service. In addition, I would also have to bring my daughter along with me. I was trying to find a place that she would fit in and that I would also be able to get some work done. If anyone works for any non-profit organizations or know of anyone who does please let me know. I am looking for organizations in Raleigh, I can't go to far with these gas prices :)

What can I do next?

check w/ Wake county Human Services on Swinburne they are always looking for volunteers. They offer parenting classes @ night and sometimes need people to read to and play w/ the children while the parents are in class they also need people sometimes to put together packets or file and you might be able to bring your baby

Hi P.,

Another resource to try is www.kidsconnectnc.org
You can always contact the people that run it and get more direct help, but the premise of the site is that it tells of volunteer opportunities in which you can involve the entire family. So it sounds like you have great options, hopefully it will work out smoothly for you.

I work at the Cary YMCA...I work in the nursery so I'm sure that we could work something out if you are interested. Also you would be able to bring your daughter with you and there are lots of other 2 year olds to play with. You can email me at ____@____.com.

Check with the Wake County Public library. They may offer you credit for your community service and there are branches everywhere. Also, you could bring your daughter and keep her entertained while you work.

I believe that the YMCA is very willing to have volunteers. There are a few spread out through the county.

Have you tried Ronald McDonald House? I know the one in Durham near Duke is always looking for people to help serve dinner, clean, inventory donations, etc. There are also kids there and a playroom, so your daughter could play. I'm sure there is one in Raleigh too you might could check into.
