Natural Products for Really Fine Hair

I have always had fine hair but health problems make it feel like I have about half as much hair as I used to. My hair is a bit frizzy so it looks a bit messy. It would look better if I could find a conditioner that doesn't weigh down my hair and make it look oily. Do you have any recommendations? I have not yet tried using a lotion and rinsing with vinegar.

What can I do next?

Try rinsing your hair with beer after washing it.
Let it go flat and get to room temp, then pour it over your head after shampooing, wait 3 or 4 min and then rinse with water.
An egg yolk hair mask can help calm the frizzies down.

I used to have a lot of hair loss due to a thyroid problem, and I had fine hair to begin with. I had to keep my hair short. My hair has now grown in and it's very healthy, long and plentiful, but it's still fine of course. I find that mousse at the roots helps, and I always dried my hair bending over to give it some lift. If you can, dry the roots only but not the rest of the hair. I use a leave-in conditioner on the ends and I've also had very good luck with a post-shampoo light oil. Pantene Dry Defy is one I've used - 1-2 pumps, rub it into the ends of your frizz and work up to the top but not on the roots. Use less, but work it through by rubbing the strands between your hands. Then I fluff it out with a pick or separate it with my fingers, or I comb it through and then twist it up in a clip to air dry. It dries in healthy waves but not fly-away frizz. There are other products - you might see what's on sale at the supermarket before you invest in anything expensive.

On the recommendation of some moms on this board, I switched from regular shampoo and conditioner to Renpure cleansing conditioner a few months ago. It has been great! I have really fine hair, and this is the perfect product for me. It makes my hair clean and shiny, but doesn't weigh it down at all. I use the Rosemary Mint.

It's inexpensive and I've found it at Rite Aid, Walgreens, and Target. (I have no affiliation with this company, I just really like this product)

I have fine hair but it is dry because I get foils - so the ends are dry/can frizz. So I get it.

You don't mention if you color your hair. If you don't, then have you tried just using a volumizing shampoo and then following up with a conditioner designed for fine hair, just on the ends? That's what I did. Aveda and Bumble and Bumble make good hair products - but I've also just used Aussie products and they worked well also.

Similarly, I have used Moroccan oil products (there is a light/fine hair variety) just on the ends of my hair. It just smooths the ends and it smells wonderful. A bottle lasts over a year if used sparingly so worth the cost.

With my colored hair, I use Joico products for colored hair that are sulphate free - so they don't tend to dry out the ends, as gentle.

So if you're just looking for one product - I'd go with Moroccan oil. You do a squirt, rub palms together and just run your hands through the ends only of your hair.

My hair is fine but I have a lot of it. It tends to get dry and frizzy and prone to breakage. About twice a week I put some type of oil on it (olive, argan, etc) and use a pick to comb it through and leave it on overnight. Then I shampoo and condition in the morning. It makes my hair soft and smooth. Also you can try the baby spray detangler. I use it sometimes; just use a little bit or it coats the hair too much and weighs it down. I normally use a pick instead of a comb or brush so I don't get so much breakage. I let my hair dry naturally since blow drying it makes it dry and prone to frizz out. Also, keep it cut to the right length. I know I need to trim when I can no longer get the pick through the ends easily. I don't brush or comb during the day unless necessary and then I will use a teeny bit of oil, cream, or leave in conditioner to keep it from frizzing. If you can somehow secure your hair lightly at night so you don't tangle it while sleeping that will help. I've also heard using a satin pillow case will help cut down on overnight tangles as well.
