It's not insensitive. It's common sense. Brand new profiles on a holiday, posting extremely dramatic circumstances... People are simply calling it like they see it.
Why does everyone seem to call anyone with a not average life a troll? Or assume that two "profiles" are the same person. Thats just insensitive! Maybe some people have interesting, or worriful lives, shouldn't those be the people who you are trying to help?

C., I RARELY call someone a troll. I actually have never said on the public thread that I didn't believe someone's story before today. I took up for this person's first thread, believing her SWH (then removed my addition after reading her second shocking and uncharacteristic thread, comparing her with her first one.)
After being here many years, some of us start figuring out this stuff. (Well, EVERYONE figured out the McDonald's thread was from a troll!) It may seem insensitive, but for those women who are truly going through stuff, things like this are a slap in the face to them. Those women are who we need to help - not the people making stuff up.
And lots of us try to help the ones with real problems, every day. THEY are the ones who need the help. People who make stuff up need to go find something else to occupy their time.

She claims to be in law school and can't even write a sentence. Personally, I hope she is a troll. I worry for our future, if those are the people becoming lawyers.
If it's unbelievable, it's a troll.
If it writes/spells like an illiterate bored teenager, it's a troll.
If it's blatantly about sex and some sort of illicit touching, it's a troll.
If it's designed to cause an uproar, it's a troll.
If it reeks of more fertilizer than your average stockyard, it's a troll.
If it reads like a Jerry Springer script, it's a troll.
If two different names have virtually the same style, it's a troll with multiple accounts.
It's just a matter of experience (seeing it over and over again) before your troll detection sharpens, but once it does - try not to respond to them (feeding the troll).
It only encourages them to come back with more outrageous made up stories.
Sometimes if it trip-traps like a troll, it IS a troll.
I, for O., won't believe that someone who can't use correct spelling of basic words is a law student. Sorry. My opinion.
You know, most people can usually tell a genuine post from someone with a troubled, interesting or worrisome life seeking help or insight from someone that's just making stuff up.
An unending paragraph with grammar errors are a sure sign of a troll.
Teens love this site on weekends and holidays to stir the pot.
If someone is just somewhat educated, knowledge of composing correct sentences and paragraphs are common.
.
there are teens that get on here and just go crazy. usually if its too good to sound true it is. i usually ignore them... when i signed up for this site it took me like 2 weeks to post things. i first read to see what others are posting about.
'anyone'?
or people who grunt, scratch and smell like trolls?

ya know, i dont get this either!
And i totally got alot of these same responces whein i was once defending a supossed troll.
you never really know if its a bored teenager or someone who is just a mess and reaching out.
SO, if you have it in you, give a genuin responce, if ur worried about waistng a few min of your time on some one who may or may not be just bored, then dont.
... and you know what. i am not going to spell check this. I have a college education, and run my own businiess, yet my spelling is horrible! I have to spell check everything! and gereraly, i dont pay attention too much to caps, and puntuation as long as my meaning is clear. but one thing every one kept saying was that if the spelling and grammar were bad it is probably a troll.
well you know what. sometimes people are just upset, stressed, busy, or just plain Can't spell to save their lives. nobody is perfect.
