hi :) I am just curious on how many naps a child that is almost one (11 months) should be taking. She's moving up to the next room in daycare in a couple of months and i've been told they have more of a "stricter" schedule over there. Trying to figure it out before she moves up to maybe get her schedule now a little more coordinated .

Thanks :)

Mine were both down to one nap, but I think two naps is very common. I would worry too much about getting her used to a future schedule. They'll Help her out, and she'll be fine. Kids at that age actually adapt pretty quickly.

My two children would still have 2 naps a day at that age (and did any day that they were at home) but the day care for ease of schedule only had one nap after lunch. Both kids were dead tired and cranky by the end of the day when we would pick them up, unfortunately.

My daughter generally does 2 at home and 1 at daycare. I think they do the 1 at daycare more for convenient scheduling. She seems to be ok with the situation.

I'd say between one and two naps, my son at that age was beginning to give up his AM nap but, even now at 18 months he still occasionally gets fussy in the AM and if I lay him down, usually around 10 AM, he'll fall asleep for about 45 min.
