We have a date night once a week. Every Monday, the cheap theater near us has $1 movies $ 4 beer! It makes a nice night out :-)
Hello all!!!
We are very busy, three kids in various sports/dance and we both work. My daughter is currently playing select basketball. There is a mandatory parents meeting tonight. I was just thinking yesterday about how I will have to get the other two kids to soccer while he goes to the parents meeting. No big deal, normal juggling for us. I came home last night, and he says "Hey, I thought it would be a great idea to get a sitter for tomorrow night (my jaw dropped to the floor at this point LOL) so we can have a date night" (I almost passed out from the shock at THIS point) He continued "That way we can both go to the parents meeting for basketball and then we can go to dinner, just me and you!! LOL!!!! OK sooo no Prince Charming whisking me off, but I'll take it!!!!!
:) Let me just say... I LOVE my husband. He is a great dad, husband and good person in general. I just had to share his idea of a date night... I am THRILLED that the idea of "date night' even entered his head!!! We had a good laugh about it when he suggested it....we NEED one. I'll definitely take it1
So any funny date night ideas or stories you care to share??

That's the kinda lightbulb moment that deserves to be rewarded. "wink wink"
Have fun!
This Thursday evening we will be kid free, so for date night we are going bra shopping................................................................(she mentioned she needed new ones and who am I to turn down this opportunity ;)
This makes me smile, my husband and I have done this in the past, used "mandatory" attendance at a parent's meeting as an excuse to go to out dinner after. Hey, you take it where you can get it, right? LOL :)
ya! my date nights always consist of wings, beer, and a UFC match. Let's just say good thing I like all three : )
Have a great time !!!
ummmmmm this saturday night my sil is watching my children so i can go on a ride along with my husband. How is that for a night off from my children?!!? OH well he has been asking me to go with him for a while and i guess its important to him.
THAT is too cute :)
Kudos to him for trying and thinking about it. With 2 kids, both boys, in sports and a third on the way and all of the things we both do with the church date night usually doesn't happen. If it does then my husband has put something together and it seems no matter how hard he tries something goes wrong. Even the night he was going to ask me to marry him. I knew it was coming bc he had me wait in the car while he picked up the ring. HELLO, slick he's not but so cute. He then took me to dinner at the restaurant we had our first date so I thought for sure this is where it will happen........Nope. We then leave get in the car and he keeps driving in circles and turning around. I finally ask where he's trying to get to and he tells me Mt Bonnell, very beautiful view of lake and sunset and suppose to be a surprise. I had to call my sis to get directions. We get there, watch the sun go down, everyone starts to leave, still waiting. He finally asks when everyone had left and it was almost dark (if your car is still there when it gets dark you get a ticket so the whole time I'm waiting for him to ask I'm thinking about us getting a ticket. The other day though he scheduled a surprise couples massage for us that worked out great and was wonderful.
We moved the furniture around so instead of the couch with two separate seats with a cubby thing between them, we now have the section of the sofa with the two recliners right next to each other so we can cuddle. That and driving to the store together for quick trips is about all we get for "date night".
Glad you y'all are getting a little time alone!
Hubby and I do date night 2x a month and his sister comes over and we pay her to watch the kids. It's definitely needed and we enjoy the time! Sometimes we just go grocery shopping at Wal-Mart! LOL Most times, though, we have dinner and go for a walk. It's a great reprive from him being a SAHD during the week (he works full time on the weekends) and for us to reconnect!
Enjoy!
No stories but I have to say, he sounds like he's a keeper. It's nice he wants to spend time with you taking care of parent responsibilities and then some alone dinner out for just the two of you. I would especially appreciate the fact it was his idea. It's a trick to spend time alone with 3 kids!
Have fun & enjoy the quiet!
That is so cute and sweet! I'm glad you can appreciate it too. Maybe no Prince Charming but perhaps a knight in shining armor rescuing you from a boring parent's night to take you out for dinner. I love the "just me and you" part. He's got the right idea!
Just want to say...be thankful you get to do that at all. Want to know when the last time my husband and I did something BY OURSELVES? Well, our youngest is two and a half...so, before she was born...and even then, it was ONCE A YEAR to go Christmas shopping for our oldest while Grandma babysit.
Can't tell you how much I used to look forward to that ONE day a year. Now we don't even do that because I'm still nursing our youngest and can't leave her for an entire day.
The last time we actually had a "date" date? Eight years ago.
