Try putting a warm wash cloth over the eye. Try using eye drops. The baby might have built up of gonk under the eye lid preventing it from closing easily. I had a similar problem from mascara build up. Might also be responding to pollen, dust, animal hair particles etc. It could be on set of lazy eye. Keep monitoring it.

Don't really follow. The eyes don't close at the same time?

I have a relative who had a neurological disorder where one side of face was slower than the other. They would send your baby to a neurologist (no way they'd let this slide).

If the doctor wasn't too concerned, doesn't sound like a problem but if you're going crazy then I would get a second opinion.

I'm not sure there's such a thing as an abnormal blink.

If you can get it in video with your phone show it to your doctor on your next visit. That was they can see what you are trying to describe. Unless doc saw it and told you it was fine then I wouldn't worry unless you want another opinion.

Good luck!

He's probably just playing around.

I write down what he's doing now and then jot down any changes you see. If you feel like it's becoming more intense, call your doctor. Otherwise, just bring it up and your next appointment.

My guess is that this is just a phase and he'll be on to something else soon enough.

I'm glad you asked your doctor, because if there was something to be concerned about, that would be the best place to start.

I'm wondering of your baby just recently "discovered" his eyes. Sometimes when babies suddenly become aware of a part of their body or a noise they can make or a movement they can control, they like to practice it and play around with it. My parents have a picture of me in my crib the day I "discovered my toes." Maybe your son recently became aware of the fact that he can control the blinking of his eyes and they don't both have to blink at the same time.

If your doctor says there is nothing to be concerned about, that is most likely the case. It can't hurt to write things down and keep track of any changes. But it is important for you to try to relax and enjoy your son.
