I highly recommend the book, Health Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Dr. Marc Weissbluth. Pick up a copy. It worked for both my kids, and many of my friends' kids.

My 2 1/2 month old daughter is fighting to stay awake all the time now, it used to be just at night. When she does sleep it's only 30-45 minutes at a time except at night it's between 3-4 hours at a time. What can I do to help her sleep more so she's not so tired all the time? Thanks M.

One thing i have learned from other moms is that breastfeeding can aid in sleeping less. I don't know if you are breastfeeding, but that might be part of it. I can say that since i didn't breastfeed our child, cause my milk did not come in, she sleeps more than most of my friend's kids. Hope this helps...

That is normal. She is so little. They know when to sleep. I would not worry about her getting enough. She is starting to be more aware of the world around her. Each baby is different. I am an advocate for going around their schedule instead of pushing your own on them...unless you absolutely have to for work or something.
Enjoy your babes! :)
M.,
She sounds normal. They do not sleep like kids or adults. They take alot of naps and keep you up all night. One thing to make sure of is that she is getting enough to eat.
If you have questions about that give me a call, I can walk you though it.

If she needs the sleep she'll take it. I think that you are the one who needs the rest. :) My son was the same , naps were less than an hour and he would only sleep for a few hours at a time during the night. We found that he really liked his swing so we let him sleep in it sometimes. It's probably not the best solution, but sometimes you have to do what ever it takes to get by. Good luck!
