We have a warranty but it does not cover the problem we are having. They say that the unit was not maintained, but we have only lived in this house for a month so the condition it was in when we got it was not our problem. Anyway, it is at least 20 years old and on it's last legs. The fan freezes up every few hours and stops blowing cold air so we have to turn it off and wait a couple hours for it to thaw and then turn it back on. With a baby in the house we can't keep this up so I may try calling Coomes. Thanks, Alia! It always helps to "know someone".

I recommend getting a home warranty for in the event it has to be replaced. If it's going out slowly it may just need to be serviced (unfortunately I don't know anyone good for that). But definitely look into a home warranty, 3 summers ago when mine went out I got a brand new AC installed for my deductible of $45.00 :)
