I was wondering what are some good but inexpensive products I can buy to bring out the natural curliness of her hair. That will last all day and won't harm her hair in the process. Any and all comments welcome...p.s. I do not want to straighten or perm her hair. she has very good hair and that's not an option...thanks in advance

What can I do next?

My friend uses coconut oil for her hair to enhance the natural curliness and it looks amazing!

I found a natural conditioner recipe online, but I haven't tried it yet. It consists of hot water, honey, and vinegar. Combine it in a spray bottle and use it every day. It works to condition and detangle hair naturally. Try to google "natural detangler recipe" and see what you can find.

It's hard to suggest products without knowing more about the specific texture of her hair and what you are trying to do with it. "Good" means nothing--sorry. Also, what do you mean by "unmanageable"? What are you trying that does not work? As you know, every head of hair is not capable of doing the same things as the next head of hair.

Okay, her hair is curly. Is it thick or fine? Can you run a comb through it?

For my son's hair, I use a product for children that reduces the tangles. Beyond combing it out, what else are you wanting to do?

First, GOOD FOR YOU to find a way to bring out her hairs natural beauty rather than look for a way to make it look like something it's not.

I am biracial and use "Mixed Chicks" leave in conditioner every day. They sell the small bottles at Target now, so it is easy to get some and try it. I buy the big, salon sized, bottles at a beauty supply store now because I know I like it and ounce for ounce it's a better deal. They sell a kids' line as well, but I'm not sure what the difference is. If I had a daughter, I'd use the same product I use on my own hair.

If you want an inexpensive route, really ANY leave in conditioner will go pretty far. Get her hair wet in the morning, comb through a substantial amount of conditioner (enough to feel slimy) and then LEAVE IT ALONE. Once it's completely dry, you can scrunch it or whatever, but resist the urge to mess with it WHILE it dries.

On work days, when I need my hair dry before I leave the house, I just turn upside down and blow dry. Don't comb or brush, a diffuser isn't needed at all, just hold the hair in your hand and blow it around. easy.

I also use WEN these days for cleansing a couple of times a week. I noticed when I got away from the suds, I was able to use a lot less of the leave in conditioner, so that's another thing to think about. Lots of brands make the "cleansing conditioner" stuff now, so shouldn't be hard to find one to try.

My daughter is biracial and I use a product line called Blended Beauties. www.blendedbeauty.com They have kids products and they have different products for different hair types. They are a little spendy but the products last a long time (4-6 months per bottle depending on how much you are using) and I have not found anything else that will last all day. For my daughter I usually buy shampoo and conditioner and then a leave-in conditioner that she uses after her shower and a spray product to use in the morning to help with the tangles. Even if your daughter is not biracial I would guess these products will work great if you pick the products for her hair type. Good luck.

Please check out this site. It is for parents of African American children and I think it will be such a help for you and your children, especially since you are from Wisconsin.
