You are most likely just fine!! My 5 yr old still tries to bounce on my belly (23 weeks) and my 1 yr old just loves having a bigger area to climb on!! :)
I am currently 12 weeks pregnant, and have a 3 year old who loves to play (what child at that age doesn't). I was lying down, and she came up abruptly and sat on my stomach and bounced up and down rather hard. It all happened so fast I barely had time to get her off before she attempted to ride "Mommy Horse" again. I know that I should be more careful, but she doesn't understand why I can't play like we used to. We are working on that. Anyway, can she have done any harm to the baby in utero? I tried to google it, but only came up with warnings about blunt trauma later on in pregnancy. I'm sure that I am just being paranoid, but is there anyone out there who has experienced this?
Thank you for your comments:) I just had my check-up and everything is fine. I'm currently in the process of educating my daughter on our new arrival. I appreciate the website and all of your feedback/suggestions. Take care!

Don't worry about it. Your baby is very protected in there. I am 33 weeks along with my second and my son is almost 2. He always loves to climb on mommy and he finds it even more fun now that he has an increasingly larger hill to climb over. At one he really doesn't understand why he can't climb on me. Sometimes he steps on the baby, but the baby is just fine. He has recently started balancing things on my belly and thinks that it looks like a seat and tries to sit on it. If he snuggles up against my belly, his baby brother just kicks back at him. Although I do my best to protect my belly from my son and tell him not to climb on me, sometimes my belly gets hit, and the baby is still doing just fine so don't worry!
don't worry!
At 12 weeks your uterus barely goes above your pelvis. you can feel a hard ridge just above the pelvis bone if you lay down and really relax your stomach muscles. So most of your baby is behind your bone, not behind your belly button. On top of that your baby is still very small and VERY WELL packaged in a big bubble of water, your thick soft uterus and all your organs :)
your baby is fine.
It is a good time to make sure your big child is starting to understand that there is a new little person growing inside you. His new sibling and very best friend in the whole wide world - he might as well start learning how to be careful and protective starting now! :) that will give him a head start!!!
congrats on your babies!

I think you should be fine. You're baby is protected by the amniotic sac. I was concerned when I was pregnant and that's what my doc told me. She said that I would have had to get a really hard hit for something serious to happen, like tripping and landing on my belly. Just make sure you're not cramping, or bleeding heavily. Any major concerns should always be discussed with your doctor.
Congratulations. Happy pregnancy.
Interesting field of study by the way.
You and your baby are pretty resiliant at this stage. They are surrounded by so much tissue that there isn't a lot that can really hurt them. I am also 12 weeks pregnant with a three year old. I have been showing her lots of pictures and videos so that she understands what is going on in mommy's belly. Here is a website that she likes: http://www.babycenter.com/fetal-development-images-12-weeks
When I was about 12 weeks pregnant with my daughter I was laying on the couch on my back. My 2.5 year old, very heavy son took a flying leap and landed on my stomach. My daughter is now 10 and just fine. Your baby is very small and completely protected in your uterus, so don't worry.
have an ultrasound just in case to make sure... and if something did happen... find it in your heart not to blame your baby as she is innocent and doesn't know any better...
just be careful going forward.
Good luck K. H.
That happened to me as well and I was told my my Dr. as long as my water didn't break, then I was fine. The baby is so cozy and safe in there that I'm sure you're fine.
Unless you experience strange symptoms, I'm sure you are fine. That little baby is very well protected in there!
where do you live i need a counselor for my 12yr old
