This just started a few days ago and seems to be becoming more persistent, He blinks hard, one time, and has a head twitch in a nodding motion at the same time. Has any other Mom had this issue with their toddler?

What can I do next?

Sounds like a tic which can be a totally normal part of development. But to be safe, if he is still doing it in a week - go to see pediatrician.

This started a few days ago, I assume and hope you have contacted your pedi about this instead of relying on a parenting site an/or Dr. Google for diagnosis.

If I were you, I would have already seen the Dr. or at least have an appointment lined up. In the mean time, I would video my child when this happens so the Dr. can review it and guide me in the right direction if I needed to take my child to a specialist.

In the meantime, try not to get overly worried, although that is hard to do when one's child is not well. Best wishes.

any time you are worried about a new development with a child you should always talk to the pedi. they are there and know whats normal and what is not. i would see what they say with a call.

I would just record it (video) and just show to your pediatrician next time you are in.

We have funny twitches here - that's what I did. It was nothing.

ETA: Thought about it - if you are concerned (it's hard to know what you mean without seeing it) I would take him in. Better to know :)

He's probably just exploring motion and feeling. A few days isn't long enough to consider it a tic, habit or symptom. If he is still doing it often in a few weeks, or something else changes in a troubling way, call your pediatrician.

It could be something, but it is most likely nothing. Kids that age do the strangest things when they "discover" something knew about themselves. My parents still remember when I "discovered my toes" and would often lie on my back just reaching up to touch my toes.

It's not a bad idea to just kind of be aware of how often he does it and write that down so you can ask the ped the next time you're there. It never hurts to ask questions.

My daughter was older than that - but she would do this weird grimace thing with her face for at least 6 months. I was totally worried she had some tic or something, but it eventually went away.

I believe you're coming here because you're afraid it's something but you want someone to say "Oh that's nothing, my kiddo did that and it was no big deal". To ease your fear.

But this sounds like something that you need to be on the phone with the doc right now, that sort of serious thing.

Please let us know what the doc says and do take as many videos of it as possible so that the doc can see how long between episodes and what side does what and how long it lasts. Keep those videos until this is completely diagnosed and treated. If it was me I'd download them to my computer and I'd upload them to Facebook just so I'd always have them.

Call the pediatrician and film it in the meantime. Same movement means something is up

no, and if my kid had this going on i'd have been into the pediatrician demanding a neuro referral so fast it would make MY head spin.
does this really strike you as a 'let me internet diagnose' situation for your toddler?
