My daughter is almost 2 (in 2 weeks). The last two days she will take off her pants and diaper. What do I do lol? Is this a sign for potty training? Tonight I was studying and she was watching Shrek and all of a sudden she starts saying something and comes over to me buck naked and I was greeted with a piece of her poop on the floor haha. Any advice? Should I buy some suspenders?
What do you do when your child tries to take her clothes off? I am not personally bothered by it, but realistically I know there are creeps and sickos in society. You can't really trust anyone nowadays. What do you do?
lol popmom great! It's like teaching them to walk... you teach them how to take their clothes off then all of a sudden they're streaking and you wonder why ya taught them hahahaha
Thanks for the advice. And no offense but no cold showers... my parents did that to my brother and I thought it was appalling, they could get sick. I wouldn't punish my child in a way I couldn't do myself... and I wouldn't stand in a cold shower. That's just sad people still do it to me... poor kids. It'd break my heart to hear my daughter scream because I stuck her in there.
They all do it! My 4 yr old still does. Every one I know with kids has the same comment. "why wont they keep their clothes on?" ..... lol
What about duct tape if she isn't ready for potty training?? LOL. MacGyver inspired.
Ok, my son LOVES to be naked and would take off his clothes the second he could ... so then we decided to have a special time of day that it was ok.
In regards to the poop thing, he began playing with it and creating "art" so a nice cold shower stopped that after the second one ... if needed it does work when all else fails.
And many do see it as a sign of potty training readiness coupled with others ... good luck deciding what to do and it is all about what works for you.
i would definitely start the potty training!! mine is 3 1/2 and takes her clothes off every chance she gets!
At that age my brother was known as the mad nudist of x avenue! It's natural at that age. I'd reinforce that she needs to keep her clothes on in public, it's ok inside the house, and I'd start potty training. I read something that said to tell them that "poo poo and pee pee belong in the potty" if they have an accident. My daughter was really good about using the potty when she was naked, so I didn't have a problem with it.
My neighbors daughter used to strip down, stand on the couch, and dance naked. The problem was that the couch was in front of a huge window that faced a fairly busy street! It was really cute, actually, but like you said... you have to watch out for the creeps and sickos. They taught her that if she wanted to play naked, she had to do it IN HER ROOM. It seemed like a decent compromise, and she took to it. :)
