Multiple C-section Experience

I've had three c-sections and am considering a fourth. I've spoken with my OB, who does not prescribe to the "three is the limit for everyone" belief and assures me that a fourth is possible. I would love to hear some personal experiences with multiple (in this case, four or more) c-sections.

Thanks, mommas!

Hi M.,

I had my 4th C-section delivery 16 years ago! My doctor was more of the belief that 3 should be the limit, but going against his advice, I opted for a 4th blessing and have never regretted it! I will say that the recovery was a bit longer with each pregnancy (the first 2 were emergencies) and I think part of that had to do with having my first baby at 21 and the last one at 29! If you trust your doctor, you should definitely speak to him/her about your possibilities and any conditions or problems you may have had in the past.

Good luck and if you need any more opinion, feel free to contact me anytime! Have a blessed day.

I don't have anything to add yet, but I'm having my 4th c-section in a few weeks. Each of my surgeries has gone well with an easy recovery. I did have to have an MRI this pregnancy, to determine if I have developed something called placenta accreta. It is a condition in which the placenta attaches irregularly to the uterus. You can google it for more information. The only reason I have to have the MRI is because the most common risk factor is multiple c-sections. I have not had any problems with this pregnancy and don't anticipate any problems at surgery. Your doctor should have checked your scar tissue at the last surgery and gotten an idea as to what kind of candidate for repeat surgeries you are. Good luck!
