Wow D. - I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. My sister was just diagnosed as well with MS - just last week. I don't know a ton about it yet though. I do know my sister has three options for treatment - shots 1x a day shots 1x every 3 days or shots 1x every 7 days. Her dr was leary about every 7 days though because of the side effects. She developed double vision and stumbling/heavy feet and tingling with her flare up that helped diagnos her. The flare up was brought on by extreme stress (her husband was just paralyzed in an accident this summe). Keeping your sisters stress level in check should help her. Also from what I've read it's very treatable and has come a long way - it just really depends on the individual.
If you ever want to chat just send me a message. It's a scary thing that we are facing huh?
Hi D., My sister also has it and I diagnosed her in 2001 just by her actions. Shes is apart of alot of orginazations online that deal w/it. Here is her email address contact her and she can talk w/u about it ____@____.com name is Dani'el Hayes and she lives in Battle Creek. She is 33 and we found out she had it when she was 28, she is stage 1-2. Please talk to her she can give you alot of insight. Good luck, R.
I am 30 years old and currently have MS. While it is overwhelming they are coming out with new meds all the time. The most important thing is to make sure she remains positive. The internet is full of alot of scarey stuff. Which may or may not be true. I stay away from "googling" random stuff.
Have her spend her energy reading about survivors. Montel Williams, Clay Walker, David Lander, Teri Garr, and Ann Romney just to name a few. It always makes you feel better to know you are not alone. I am sorry to hear about her struggle and I wish her the best.
Try going to the library and get books,
My mother has ms, and also my good friends mother has it. The thing about ms, is that it is different with each individual. For instance, my mom has had it for over 10 years, and you would never know, except for the occational dropping things. On the other hand my friends mother has to be on all sorts of meds, and has a harder time when it comes to lifting things and pain......but as long as your sister goes to the doc. and does what he/she says she should be ok....the best thing for her is support from friends and family, that is the key to doing good. There are lots of ms groups that she could join, that have people in her situation that could ease her nerves, they really help...and there not just for her , they are for family and friends to. The easiest way to find them would be online. I wish her all the best of luck, i'm sure she will be just fine. Please let me know how everything turns out.

my cousin who is very close to me was diagnosed with it back in 1997 she is still doing great, shes not in a wheel chair or anything like that. she has alot of back and leg problems tho. but she is doing great and it hasnt progressed very fast. i can find out more for ya ok. but that is how she is doing all these years later. i dont know if this would help her feel alittle better or not. but its been along time and she can still do stuff she use to she just has to take little breaks and find more comfortable ways to sit and lay. There is meds also to make her more comffey.
After I read this I "Googled" MS. Found a lot of websites. I suggest contacting your local MS organization. My son had Muscular Dystrophy, and I found The Muscular Dystrophy Association to be a godsend. There are people out there going through what you are right now! Most organizations have doctors, physical therapists, etc. that specialize in these areas. I have a friend that has a girlfiend with MS. She is a lawyer and lives on her own! Good Luck to you and your sister. I hope you find some answers.
Here is another site. www.nmss.org
my SIL has is and is in remission. She was diagnoised with it about 10 years ago I think. I don't really know too much about it except she gets steroid shots once a week so her legs don't spasm. She has trouble walking.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

i know Montell Williams does some of his shows on it since he has it also. I am sure you can find more info on his website too.
Hi D., I'm sorry to hear about your sister. My FIL was diagnosed with MS about 8 years ago so I do have some experience with the condition. The important thing to remember that your sister can still live a full and happy life with MS, the treatments they are developing are getting better and better. What type was your sister diagnosed with? Email me if you'd like to chat about this, I know how hard it can be to support a family member through this. ((hugs))

D. my sister has MS and has had it for 14 years. I am not sure what stage your sister is in so that I can help you a little better. My sister has good days and bad days and has been given her self shots now for about 12 years. They have not found a cure for it There are times when she gets really tired and then she looses her vision and looses feeling and his body parts. I can tell you if you make sure she gets the right amount of rest and does not over do her self and stays away from extreme heat she should stay pretty stable let me know what you want to know and I am sure I can answer it for you. Let me know what stage she is in also and how old she is? My sister was diagnosed when she was 21
