Hi everyone! My family and I will be moving locally from Mansfield, TX to Aubrey, TX in just a few short weeks. I am looking for recommendations on what every Mama would need for their family - pediatrician, primary care physician, dentist (gentle, please!), OB/GYN, hair stylist, play groups and/or mother's groups. Aubrey is in between Denton and Frisco, but I would prefer to hear about referrals in the Frisco/North Plano area. Thank you all for your help!

Hi D., I live in Aubrey also and thought I could give you some
suggestions. Our pediatrician is Dr. Jeremy Baker. He is a young guy and we absolutely love him! He shares an office with Dr. Mike Auvenshine who is a general prac. with a specialty in sports medicine. (he totally fixed my back issue and I didn't have to go see a specialist). They are located in the big medical building right where 380 meets 377. Super convenient and they are very quick to get in to see you if you need to.... Usually same day. There is also an ob-gyn in that building, Dr. Cortez, but I've never used her. My hair stylist is in Denton and she is awesome.... a great colorist. Her name is Nancy Hudson and she works at America's Designs. Welcome to the area and I sure hope some of this helps. Oh yeah, I'm also in a couple of play groups as well as a Moms group at church. Holler back at me if you're intersted in hearing about those.

Hi D.! Welcome! I second Dr. Bain at Healthy Kids Pediatrics in Frisco (she is an alternative med friendly doctor and is well aware of the vaccine issues: autism, etc) And she allows you to delay them or go for single doses if you desire. (she encourages this) Salon M in Frisco, Debi Perot is great (my best haircut and color EVER) and I don't have any other suggestions. Those are the 2 I highly reccomend! But I realize that when I share, I risk less availability :) I just know how it is to be new in town and have no idea where to go. Mamasource is the best!

Hey D. -
Here's my list...

Northlake OBGYN (@ Presby Plano) - ###-###-####. I see Dr. Denning, but Dr Garner (as mentioned below) was Wonderful(!!) when I was pregnant with Jaclyn and Denning was on vacation. They have 2 men and 2 women at their Plano location. I'm not picky about this, but just happen to see a woman.

Willow Bend Pediatrics - ###-###-####. They will be more on the holistic side, but I haven't ever pressed the vaccine issue. I like them a lot.

Forest Lane Pediatrics (their @Presby Plano location) - ###-###-####. They are great pediatricians. They will ask you all about the developmental stuff. They are also very "Western" with their approaches and also very conservative. Personal preference, some people really, really like them. I'm a bit more holistic.

My dentist is in mid-Plano, but they are awesome... Dr. Tricia Le ###-###-####.

I'm still searching for a good hairdresser myself. =(
