Here's a little area guide that Toll Brothers has for the Lake Travis & Lakeway area: http://www.tollbrothers.com/communities/8106/area_guide/a...

Childcare and schools are summarized on page 2.

We are really happy with the preschool Kiddos. It's run through the Round Rock Christian church. The director is a "retired" kindergarten teacher and the staff is excellent. They have very low teacher/student ratios and a great curriculum. I don't know if they have openings or not but we love them. Plus they are maybe 5 miutes from where you are. They are also one of the few that in that area liscened by the state.

Hi N.. I am not certain where Alta Vista is. But, my daughter attended First Foundations Preschool located at 620 and Anderson Mill Rd. (behind Wendy's). It is a Christian preschool so prayer, Bible stories and songs are incorporated into daily activities. There is Spanish instruction and a wonderful musical class as well. I LOVE the teachers and director. It was a very positive experience for us.

Best wishes,
K.

Alta Vista right by the Randall's in Lakeway, right? That's not so much "north" but there are a ton of options right around there. The most popular seems to be the Lakeway Church and there's also a methodist church a little bit up the road on 620 that's supposed to have an excellent preschool program. I didn't put my son on the wait-list for either of those (and the list is very important), so we went to Dripping Springs Methodist, which is kind of far away, but wonderful. My son is about to be in first grade though, so my knowledge is a couple years out of date. Good luck!

I have my son on the waiting list at the Montessori Pre-School in Lakeway right off of Debba drive. He hasn't started the program yet because he's too young, but when I visited the facility I really liked it. A neighbor of ours has her son at the Primrose preschool (I think it's on the 71?) but if you google either of those, they are close to you and I hear nothing but good things about both. Good luck!
