My husband Brook, daughter Kenley (21 months), and I are moving to Allen this summer. We have only been through the town twice and we really love it. I need some suggestions on which subdivisions to look at to buy a home. We want a one story house in a subdivision that has a lot for the kids to do like a park, pool, etc. Our price range is around $215. Thanks for the help!

Look at Twin Creeks. Lovely community and great schools!
I would suggest looking at Watters Crossing. It is walking distance to the Watters Creek area where there is Borders, Market Street, lots of restaurants, Bath and Body Works, Vera Bradley, Sephora and many more. It has lots of trees, the area is well kept up, there are lots of parks, the school is within it and there are two neighborhood pools. The Homeowners dues are the lowest in the area and the houses are about 15 to 20 years old so the prices are probably within your budget since you are looking for a 1 story. It's on the West side between Bethany and McDermott. Good luck and welcome to Allen!
We live in Lost Creek Ranch and love it. There is an elementary school in the neighborhood, which is great! We also have several parks, community pool, and seasonal community activities. There aren't many one store homes in Allen, but I have seen a few. Shouldn't be a problem to find a nice home with your budget. If you don't have a realtor, contact Ryan Cave. He is a realtor that lives in Lost Creek Ranch and happens to be a really nice guy. He's involved in all the activities here. Here's his website:

Good luck, you will love Allen, no matter what neighborhood you choose.
