Hi. sounds like chiggers.... Soak in a baking soda bath, that should help some. I had them when I lived out in the country and the grass got tall at times...

My 4 yr old son has bites all over his arms and legs. He had bites on his tummy, and face but have healed. I though he had the chicken pox. They are small bites. They do not have puss. I also have them around both my ankles. I am diabetic so mine have not healed. We do not have pets. There is a lake right behind our building and there are ducks, cats and dogs always on the grass and on our porch. I also have see nile birds in the lake. My son has had fever only for one day and vomiting with no illness before it happened. Can someone give me advice on what to put on these bites so they can heal and stop itching. My son is constantly scratching. I have put neosporin since it says heals fast but didn't work. I tried this other medication which dries and makes a hard layer over the bite so you wont scratch but doesnt work. Please help. Like I said it look like he has chicken pox cause he has so many bites all over and he is always on the carpet. I think maybe the fleas got on our clothes when we walk through the grass area and have reproduced in our apt. I've seen one on my socks twice now. I am worried about all the scars on our legs we have very light skin and we love to wear shorts.
thank

I finally found out that I do have fleas. I found some on my leg and on my socks. When I tried picking it off my sock to get a closer look it jump off my hand. I am really upset cause we do not have pets. We cant wait to move to a apt. that doesnt allow pets. I just think it is not fair for us to suffer just because other people want to have pets. I also think the apt. complex should spray monthly since they allow people to have pets. It really affected me cause I'm diabetic. I have been applying benedryl cream for the itching and it has helped to dry them up. But, of course we still wake up with new bites daily. We are also getting our apt. sprayed thursday. I want to thank everyone for replying to my request. Everyone of you gave me great advice. I don't know what I would have done with you all.
Thank you
I.

The way it sounds that is'nt mosquito, tick or flea it sounds like chiggers (red bug) and the only thing that you can do is leave it alone there is all kind of home remadees but you could go and get cear finger nail polish and put it on there, and yes it will burn but it will stop the itch, because what I have been told is that when the chigger gets on you it is already dead now I don't know how true this is but I can tell you that it itches like crazy!! As far as you, you should call the pharmacy and ask them what you can put on them.
I am prone to mosquito bites too, they just love me. I have tried many over the counter creams, lotions, etc. but I still itch. Try Lavender essential oil, you can dab it directly onto the bites and it helps. You can find it at Sun Harvest, Whole Foods, natural-type places like that. There are several essential oils that can be helpful, check online to see what you think. HTH.
This sounds like chiggers to me. You can get rid of chiggers by painting each one with clear fingernail polish.
I also swear by the Benadryl spray. I am very prone to insect bites and this stops the itching. Good luck!
Are you sure their not chiggers from walking in the grass? The only way to get rid of chiggers is to put bleach on them (around your ankles is where chigger bites would be, not your face).
For insect bites, they make this medicine pen that relieves the itching and heals the bite marks soon. It forget what its called, but I usually find it in the bug repellant section of the store.
If his face and chest are still itchy, I'd recommend the pen or I'd use vaseline. Good luck!
My son is always getting bit by mosquitoes and other insects. He has the scars on his legs and arms. His Pediatrician recommended that I apply Hydrocortisone cream on the bites. It relieves the itch and it also helps with the scarring. Hope this helps.
It does sound a bit like chiggers, but usually you only get chiggers around your ankles. The only way he could get them all over his body is if he was rolling in the grass?!?! BUT, if you have seen fleas in your house, that is a serious issue. Are you sure that is what you saw on your socks? Get down close to the carpet and watch for a few minutes. If you see anything jumping around it needs to be treated immediately. Fleas multiply extremely fast. They can make you sick, which might explain the fever and vomiting. It sounds like you have a serious problem and need to see a doctor and the pest patrol now!!!!
It sounds like it is chiggers and/or mosquitos. My daughter and I too are both prone to bug bites of all kinds. I have found that to get immediate relief when it is itching badly to use calamine lotion. But ultimately we take a bath with either epsom salts or an oatmeal bath product until the bites are gone. (I found Aveeno works best but there are several homemade recipies on the web). The bath is also nice because you can put your face in the water and although you can't keep it submerged it does still provide relief to the bites on the face/neck area. Hope this helps.

They are Chiggers. They are associated with water and tall grass. Put clear finger nail polish on them and they will dry out quicker and kill the insect. Hope this helps.

May daughter had something like that last year.. There is something called little docs cooling spray.. She said that help more then anything else and yes it heal faster to.. You can get it at HEB in the baby side... Also oat meal bath helps to... Good Luck
You could try Benadryl cream and maybe take some too, helps with the itching.I live in a desert so I would not know about chiggers. But we do get bug bites. They will heal faster if he stops the itch, that is why it would not hurt to give benadryl also. It will cause drowsiness. It might not hurt to get the bug fogger and set them off in your house. You wil lhave to leave for like 4 hours, but it works. And if you are worried about them coming back you might need to refogg your house after a few weeks, they might hatch eggs.
You've gotten a lot of great advice, but I haven't seen many about getting the pests under control. If I were you, I'd call a professional ASAP. Get a quote for treating the yard and your house. You mentioned all kinds of feral animals come to visit your yard - that means they can be carrying diseases with them and leaving the fleas, ticks and other things behind. Once you remove the pests, you remove 90% of the bites!
When you DO have bites, there are several all natural ways to sooth and heal. Aloe vera gel is a great soothing agent, as well as Lavender essential. Personally, I use witch hazel to clean and sooth chigger and mosquito bites and then apply aloe vera gel (they have some with numbing/cooling ingredients) until the "wound" heals. All of these things can be picked up at the local store and are very reasonably priced. Benadryl has a new "bite stick" that numbs the bite and stops the itching and is next to the sun care items. Good Luck!
I would think that the bites are chiggers rather than fleas or ticks. Chigger bites itch like crazy for 3 or 4 days, then the chigger dies. You can smother the chigger and it dies sooner - I've used finger nail polish to smother the chigger and that helps but using "anti-itch" cream will help with the scratching because it is soothing. You could have fleas that bite, but without pets in the house, they won't stay. A flea bite is different from what you have described. Tick bites - well, you know that they attach and can be easily found and removed. My best guess is chiggers. You can find information on how to handle the bites in several places: Mayo Clinic, WEB MD, and other places. Dressing with long pants tucked into socks and bug spray around the ankles helps but that is about the only prevention that I know about. Good luck!
