Wait... You can mop a kitchen floor?

hmmm, guess i gotta add that one to my never ending list of duties now...

Swiffer rocks! Keeps us from sticking to the floor but i don't have to pull out the bucket and mop... Do the whole water thing, wait for it to dry, and dump the water out... Cause you know... You don't really want to dump it outside... Chemicals and mud and all... But you don't want to have to re clean the sink that you cleaned when you "cleaned from the top down"... Floors are under sinks which means you already cleaned the sink then dump dirty water in it? Just doesn't seem right to me. lol

As you can tell... I have all the excuses all thought out already... :-)
I usually only do a complete "mop job" maybe 4 or 6 times a year... Other wise its swiffer or towels as I mop up the water that gets on the floor either from spilling, dripping, drooling, or melting...

I don't mop my kitchen floor nearly as often as I should. It always seems to be the last thing on the priority list and most of the time, I run out out time to do it. I wipe up the little spills as they happen, but please don't look too closely at my corners! LOL

Once my kids are grown up I will have plenty of time to worry about how clean my floors are. The housework will wait to be done, but my kids are going to be kids for only a little while, and to me thats so much more important!

I'm with you!! I use the Swifter mop just to do a quick clean up.But I actually mop the floor like once a month! I hate doing it especially in the winter because the kids or b/f come walking through with their wet shoes!!

Less and less every year. I am conscious of waste and disposable products like swiffer, but they are very convenient! I bought one but rather than use the disposable wipes, I bought a big bag of auto microfiber cloths and I wet one, stick it into the swiffer holes and spot clean that way. More often though, I just hand spot-clean with the cloths. Microfiber is very efficient. The auto ones are much cheaper than the "kitchen" ones. I use one a day for the counters and save a lot on paper towels.

I usually get to mine every other week or so. I don't really have a set schedule. I sweep everyday. And will take a wet rag and wipe up visible spots. I have a friend who is on a set schedule with all her cleaning. She mops every other Friday, and will literally wake up earlier to do it if she finds herself busy that day. She does everything by a schedule. Not me, but I suppose I would be more organized if I was that way.

I do it once a week usually Monday morning. If it gets really bad, as often as needed.

I mop my floor about once a week. I bought a steam mop from Meijer for about $80 and LOVE it! It only uses water so it is cheap and no cleaners to buy. It works great too!!! I can't think of what it is called but it is like the "Shark" that is out on the market.

There is no one right way to mop a kitchen floor. You can use a sponge mop, rag mop, dirty towels, microfiber cloths, etc. with or without cleaning solution.

As FlyLady (aka: Marla Cilley) says: Cleaning your house imperfectly still blesses your family.

I try to mop my floors (I have hard wood and tile) once a week, but sometimes it is more like once every two weeks. But I spot clean spills with dirty kitchen rags.

Have a great weekend.

I try to do mine about 3 times a week. But I have 2 dogs and 3 kids and 1 husband (who I think is as much a mess maker than the other 5 ) Sometime I will just spot clean. I think it depends on how messy it gets.

I really don't do it that often....WAAAAYYYY less than I should!

It's just one of those things that comes last in my house. I have a great tile color that hides everything so unless you count cleaning up spills...my floors really only get a good mopping a half dozen times a year or so...seriously!
