Mommy Beauty Question

Not a parenting question, but you mommies are always so helpful! Here's my problem:

I have never really had a face cleaning routine. I clean my makeup off at night, but all I wear is powder, maybe some concealer if I've got pimples. My problem is my pores. They look huge! I've tried a pore reducing cleanser and a pore reducing lotion and nothing has worked. I've also developed a problem lately with blackheads.

I dont really want to spend a ton, and I dont care if it's all natural or whatever, but any advice would be helpful!! Thanks!

ETA: my face cleaning routine is pretty much letting it wash off in the shower at night.

What can I do next?

I'm 46, have an oily T zone and olive tone skin. I have suffered from large pores on my cheeks, nose and forehead. I really suggest that you use a mild face soap ( I use Dove sensitive soap bar, yes on my face ") and Stri Dex maximum strength medicated pads with no alcohol at least once a day. They contain salicylic acid which is what large pores need to keep clean and help with cell turnover (wrinkles). Also there is an awesome little face cloth: http://www.amazon.com/Wonder-Cloth/dp/B000FGS0RO/ref=pd_s... no kidding this little cloth rocks! Smooths you face and keeps those large pores CLEAN and appear less large. Also can be used with just water to remove ALL of your make up. I too tried just about everything that was made for large pores and nothing seemed to help sometimes it even made my face breakout.
And you already just use powder so that helps with your pores not appearing as large too. I use Everyday minerals. They are very reasonable priced and offer a free sample kit. Love them. http://www.everydayminerals.com/
Best Regards,
C.

I've done those nose and "t" strips to lift black heads - and they work great. Usually like $6 for 10??maybe??
I'm pretty simple, so maybe not the best at answering this question, but if you don't wear much make-up - maybe you are over washing your face? Powder and foundation usually wears away over the course of the day. (that's pretty much what I do too)
1/2 my showers are at night 1/2 in the morning. Depends on how the day went or how dirty I feel. If i happen to shower twice I just wash my face with water one of the times and the other time I use a tea tree natural facewash ($6 every 4-6 months??). My face feels wonderfully clean and I have the best skin ever since starting this simple routine.

I'm loving Aveeno Positively Radiant cleanser. Just put the pump dispenser in the shower and you'll be good to go. I also like Sea Breeze if I'm breaking out at the time.

I have tried everything under the sun, including prescription medications and this is the best thing that has worked for me.

I saw this one and read the back, 10% benzoyl peroxide.. that is a lot compared to other creams that had maybe only 2%, so I went ahead and bought it. It's my time of the month right now and my face isn't totally clear, but it's clearer than it has been in a long time!

It's only about a $6 tube at the grocery store and it's awesome! Doesn't dry out my skin, doesn't bleach my clothes (that I've noticed anyways) doesn't get all flaky or cakey.

I just put in on 2 times a day, in the morning after washing my face and at night after washing my face, I put on a little bit on my bad areas and rub it in really good. Anyways, thought maybe you would like to try it!

It's called AcneFree Acne & Blackhead Terminator 10, Time-Released 10% Benzoyl Peroxide. It's in an orange and white box, and an orange tube.

There is also a baking soda mask and a salt treatment that works okay too, but kind of messy:

salt (read the comments, there are some tips in there):

Your skin changes when you become a mommy, and it may be time to do a little more. I do sell skin care, and it is sold by the age of your skin 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50+... sensitive, and acne prone. Also with the skin care is our tonic (toner) anything 30s and over has a hair growth inhibitor, the tonic also will help with your pores.
If you want something quick to do in the shower there is the busy women's facial. Bam bam bam its the cleanser, the scrub, and a green tea mask a dab on each finger and wash your face and rinse and done, toner when you get out for your pores and then lotion.
If your pores still need to be hidden when you get out there is a tube of clear primer, it works like air brushing... just a tiny bead will glide over your face and will cover your pores before your powder and its only $10.
Any or all of the products that sound good may help you. Just suggestions.
Let me know if i can be of help.
