I wear a 10 1/2 WIDE shoe. That size is very, very difficult to find. I usually have to go with 11 M or W. Even then, I haven't been having any luck finding shoes that I like. I need nice looking sandals/slides that I can slip on and off my feet easily. I definitely do not want a heel. I'm already 5'10"!!! :) Comfort is a TOP priority for me. Help!

What can I do next?

I know that Rockport Shoes at the Terrell Outlet Mall have wide shoes. My husband wears wide shoes and this is the only place he buys his shoes. Half of their store is ladies shoes also. I have big feet 10-11 but not wide. You might give them a call to see if they have ladies wide. It is connected to the Rebock Athletic Shoe Store.

I recommend Birkenstock's - they come in a 42W (11) which is what I wear. The other brands that I have and absolutely love are Privo's and Clark's. They are not cheap but super comfy!!

Other brands that I have found cute shoes in my size are Nine West and Naturalizer.

My sister in law found some at SAS Shoe Store of San Antonio around l00. She wore them to church yesterday they were onion like skin and very pretty. They are slide on leathers with no heels.
The Outlets of Hillsboro has SAS store and I think there is one in Gainsville Shopping Center. also in Austin... The Outlets of Hillsboro are more higer in price than the ones in SA she decided.

Zappos, zappos, zappos! They are the best shoe store EVER! www.zappos.com

Free shipping and free returns make it so easy. I swear, I don't work there. I just love having the ability to shop for fantastic shoes without having to go anywhere! Oh, and you can search by your size, width, etc., which should be particularly helpful for you!

Check out Nordstrom's on-line. You can order wide shoes from them and if they still don't fit are an easy return. I have gotten shoes from them that are comfy and in style, a bit pricey but they do have clearance items also and definately have the wides, as my feet are flat!

My feet got HUGE when I was PG - my size 10's gradually made their way up to a 13! Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack have larger sizes - but they can be pricey. If you aren't looking for expensive - try payless.com. They have lots of shoes in larger sizes and they do carry widths - I bought several pairs from them and was surprised at how comfy they were - esp. the flip-flops. DSW carries 11's - but you have to find out what day they get their shipments and egt there that afternnon or the day after - otherwaise they will be gone! One of the sales guys told me that - and he was right! Good luck!

I think the shoe company is called Mason's and it is a catalog with nothing but shoes of all sizes from extra narrow to extra wide. If you have a computer, or can go to library to use one, type in that name and the site should come up and you can ask for a catalog or maybe view some on line. If I'm wrong about the name , just type in wide shoe sales, and hopefully you will get several sites.

My daughter - 15 has a 10 1/2W or 11W foot. We shop at Payless. Inexpensive, good selection of styles in those sizes. If you don't have one where you are try online. The other store is Nordstrom. They of course are a little pricier - also available online. Good Luck!

The only store I have ever found a consistent selection of WIDE shoes has been at Payless. (I'm curious to see what other recommendations you get. Thanks for posting this question.)

Okay, I am right there with you with big and wide and my feet are flat as well which poses another problem for me in regards to comfort. For tennis shoes I wear Saucony or New Balance only and both come in wide widths and if I have to I can get mens and that helps as well. For Sandals, I recommend the Crocs sandals, not necessarily dressy, but oh so comfy-they come in every size and they also have mens which helps with the width and no one ever knows that they are mens. Finally for dressier shoes I ONLY buy Merrell's from Dillards. If I happen to find them elsewhere, like TJ Maxx, Marshalls etc., in the right size color etc. then I count it a blessing, but if there is something I need, then I go to Dillards. They are a little pricey but worth every penny imo. HTH.

My MIL has big feet also - she is an 11 1/2 narrow. She also struggles to fin shoes and almost exclusively shops at Nordstrom for her shoes and her socks. They special order her anythign she wants and she ALWAYS shops their semi annual sale.

For dressy shoes I would go to Nordstroms. Avenue also has a good selection of wide width shoes.

I LOVE this brand named "Born", sold at Dillard's, but they are also sold at Ross and TJ Maxx (don't know about Marshall's). They are expensive. I paid $100 for my sandles, but they are like walking on clouds! I love them! And the last pair of this brand I had lasted me 5 years! So, needless to say, they are well worth the money. (Ross sells them for about $15-20, but I needed them for a trip; hence, why I paid the extra. I bought my original pair at Ross.)

Best wishes! Oh, also Naturalizer has great shoes, comfortable and larger (wide) sizes.

I wear a size 11.5 W or 12 M so I definitely feel your pain. I have had a lot of luck ordering from zappos.com. They have free shipping BOTH ways, so if you order something and it doesn't work for you, it doesn't cost anything to return it. You can search the site by size, including width so it only comes up with the style that come in that size. You can also do that on the Sierra Trading website as well.

Good luck!

I used to make decorative flip-flops to sell. You can find a pair in the men's section and decorate them to match just about any outfit (men's 9/10 at Wal-Mart is usually a 10 1/2 to 12 lady's). I used to tie fabric to them and make them look like cheerleader pom-poms. You can also us beads and fringe.

Hope it helps.

Blessings,

I have Wide feet also and feet problems. Bass shoe outlet in Hillsboro has a great selection of sandals. I got mine there on sale for $25 dollars. They didn't have wide at that store, however they did at another store and had it shipped to my house. I had to pay for shipping/tax,etc.. It cost around $35 total. I'm sure you could look online for Bass shoes also. Bass has great quality shoes and sandals. Tennis shoes, I buy New Balance at the New Balance store on Hulen and they have wide widths.

I've also shopped at DSW in the past. Have you tried there? I haven't always been wide, in the past year I have bunions and other feet problems. Now, after I've seen a Dr. and getten orthotics and my feet measured they say I am a wide with my orthotics and my bunions. I've also bought things at Famous Footwear, you might try there. Good Luck.
