Mom Brain HELP

Ok so I used to amazing at remembering things, fabulous at computers, learned really fast, and could concentrate. Well I now have a 1 year old and none of that is true anymore. I feel so useless, I am now working on a mac at work and understood them a bit before I had my son, but now I feel so stupid. My supervisor i'm sure thinks I'm so dumb because of how many times I have to have her find the xserve for me. I've tried writing things down in a note book but I then forget the notebook after a few days. My spelling abilities are below than average. I get sidetracked at work, school, and home. I forget to do simple chores that I've always done. Is there anything I can do to help out my brain? In all honesty I'm not that stressed out, I get 6-8 hours of sleep (depending on how my son is doing), my diet could be better. HELP!

What can I do next?

You're not alone. My son is 2 and I have felt unlike myself for a long time. I used to consider myself smart but not anymore. Maybe on a good day :) I don't know what it is. Most likely sleep deprivation for a long period of time? I am also a stay at home mom so I don't think I am quite as challenged as I used to be, mentally that is. I too have trouble spitting the right words out! I hope you find a solution, let us know if you do!

Oh gosh, I can relate. I have serious Mom Brain...makes me feel so stupid sometimes. Mine is more having trouble getting the right words out of my mouth...I know what they are in my head but there is a disconnect somewhere now between my brain and my mouth?

Most recent example: I was making my famous strawberry cake, I was looking at the strawberries, cutting up the strawberries, my son comes up and says "Can I have one of those"? and I say "What? One of these tomatoes"? Ugh, its lame!

I will be excited to read your responses!

Have you tried chiropractic? You'd be amazed what chiropractic affects and can help out with. Also, do you exercise regularly, perhaps some better circulation would help. BTW: My hubby is a techie and thinks Mac computers are the stupidest thing ever, so he'd probably say that the computer thing has nothing to do with you, it's your companies fault for using such bad computers! :-)

If you haven't had a physical in a while, I would suggest getting one. Make sure they check your thyroid.
Try playing games like Concentration or Soduko or Crosswords. I think it's ginko biloba that is supposed to help w/memory. Keep experimenting w/training ideas at work. Keep one notepad and have it with you always. Don't be afraid to tell your boss or whoever to 'hold on, I need to write this down'.

Admittedly, my memory has never been the same since giving birth, but it has improved. I use my Outlook calendar as a crutch. I'd never remember an appt without it.

You're not alone. I've felt this way since my daughter was born and she's 6 now. :(
I hope you find something to help. Good Luck.
