My daughter is 18 months old and still doenst have her incisors. she has all the rest of her teeth, just not the last 4. I never grew 3 of my baby teeth when i was little and had to have some minor dental work done to get around this. what i am wondering is at what age is it not normal to still not have all their teeth? by 2? should she have them all already? thanks

What can I do next?

I'm sure you'll get tons of replies with different scenarios, and hopefully feel good about your daughter's teeth :) My son is a week from 19mos and just cut his incisors, but he's ahead of the pack as far as all the other babies in our group goes. There are 3 18mo who only have 6 teeth. My husband's 3yo cousin JUST got her molars. I'm sure your peed will tell you that things are moving along nicely (when you see them at her next visit).

all kids are different! My first daughter has 12 teeth at 12 months, and 16 teeth at 13 months. My second had 2 teeth for her first birthday, and got her top 4 by 13 months. I'm not sure when she got the rest... but she was a slow teether.

check out this chart... it tells you the "average" age the teeth come in. It says incisors around 18 months... which would mean some kids get them after that.

My 18 month old has her top front 4, her bottom front 4 and 2 top molars just starting breaking through in the last month. It sounds like her pacing is going just fine.

T.,

I had a incisor missing forever! I had a baby tooth on my left that was bonded over 3 times. When I was in my early 30's dont you know that lil sucker grew right down through the roof of my mouth???? I of course had to have it pulled. I had the baby tooth removed when I was 40 and a bridge put in, but I'm sure it was so strong and used to being there it wouldnt of come out unless it was pulled. (Ihad my front teeth bonded 3 times, then I had veneers!)

ANYWAY....I found out my mother has still to this day a tooth that never grew, shes 72. My youngest daughter3 1/2 (adopted too!) only has 3 bottom teeth in the front instead of 4. I guess this is not abnormal! WELL AT EAST IN MY FAMILY!!!!

Best wishes to you both!

I would take her to the dentist and ask them... I just took my 3 year old for the first time and mentioned I had an 18 month old and they wanted to see her too. I didn't realize you could take children that young to the dentist, they even cleaned her teeth. I went to a dentist that specializes in kids. Good luck!
