I've had the mirena for a while, & I was wondering if you had a miscarriage do you still bleed with the mirena??
Never got pregnant or had a miscarriage....and never lost my period while I was on Mirena. In fact, I bled more days then without birth control on Mirena, although not as heavy.
I haved not gotten pregnant from what I can tell while the mirena has been in place and as for the bleeding maybe once a year will I bleed where I need to use/do anything. I normally know when I am "bleeding" because my urine is a bit darker maybe brownish for a few days then it goes back to normal plus I still have all the same emotional "issues" if you will. I have had no problems but I do think I want it out soon I think it is interfering with my ability to get back to a healthy weight.
I've had mine in for a month now (first time I've had one) and I think I just had my period which was almost too light to "use" something, it lasted for only a day or two and then tapered off to a couple days of "pinkish" discharge (sorry if this is TMI!) I think if you were to get pregnant and have a miscarraige you would without a doubt know that it was happening.
Honestly, you should not be getting pregnant in the first place with Mirena in place. If it did happen, you would bleed, because your body would still need to flush out the failed pregnancy. Do you think you are pregnant?
I'm not sure with the Mirena but i have paragard and i know that i had a miscarriage I bleed majorly without birth control so for my the heaviness that i have now with the paragard is heaven compared to what i had. I heard that Mirena stops a lot of bleeding due to all the hormones it has...ive had 2 friends get pregnant off of Mirena though.
