Why not try having the copper IUD put in, it doesn't have hormones in it? I have had it before and it was fine and plan on having another put in after my pregnancy. It was really easy to get pregnant after I had it removed.
Hey ladies. I was just curious how many of you have or had the IUD Mirena? I got it when my daugther was about 3 1/2 months old and I've had it in now for 3 months. I'm still bleeding or spotting every single day and I hate it! I know they said "irregular bleeding" for the first 6 months but I have had to use a tampon or liner every single day since I got it. And I know they said the hormone's are suppost to go straight to your uterus so it doesn't really get into your blood stream but I have been feeling alot more depressed and down the past few months. Which is not me at all. Just curious if anyone has any input about it. I really want to get it taken out but I also don't want to be back taking the pill every day.

Hi!! I also have the Mirena IUD. I have had it about 1 1/2 years now. I too bled for the first 3-4 months and was just miserable. My doctor said to give it some more time and it did finally stop. I still had periods about every month since and did go through another spell of bleeding about 6 months later for a month in a half. I got put on 1 pack of birth control pills to stop that. My periods now have gotten really light to just spotting. The only thing I don't like is that it is unpredicable when you do start. But just hang in there ... it should get better!!
Hi R.,
I have the implant and have had it for about ten months now. I also have bled almost non-stop from the start. Just recently the bleeding stopped but for how long I don't know. I have also experenced the mood changes and not for the best. In addition to all that, I have no sex drive(TMI):) I really didn't want to go back on the pill either but feel like for the sake of my family I must. I know some people have had good results but I haven't heard. Good Luck!
Hi R.,
I have had my Mirena for 1 1/2 years. I bled A LOT and for a LONG time, but it did finally stop. It took about three months. Now I have very light periods, but they are completely un-predictable. I have not noticed any emotional issues... I did debate getting mine out when the bleeding was happening...you just have to stick it out... if that's what you decide. For my situation it was better than pregnancy! Hope this helps!
