It doesn't matter really if he drinks it hot or cold, just that he drinks it. If you go out most places have microwaves...... I wouldn't worry.

Better to warm it up and let him get what he needs. Be sure he's drinking from a sippy cup now. I would gradually make it less and less warm so that within a couple months you are maybe zapping it for 5-10 seconds. He will then gradually get used to drinking it cold.

Good Luck!!

Hi J.,
Have you tried putting it in a sippy cup and making a huge deal about him being a big boy now. This is what I did with my daughter when I quit breastfeeding. Good luck, hope this helps.

When we switched our kids (I have a two and four year old), we put a teaspoon of sugar-free Nesquik in their milk and just slowly put less and less. Hope that helps.

Try warming it just a bit, and slowly make it cooler and cooler. We had to do that with our daughter. She eventually came around, it just takes some time.

Are you sure it's the temperature that is bothering him? Maybe it's the taste...? Maybe try mixing the milk 1/2 and 1/2 with formula and slowly transitioning that way, if you haven't already. Doctors actually recommend now that formula fed babies continue supplementing with formula, even after 1 year.

I would try it gradually. Warm it then gradually wam it less and less till it get where you want it. With the heat comming it may be refreshing to him to drink cool milk. Good luck & God bless

Hi, J.:
We did the 1/2 formula and 1/2 milk. That worked, but when we got to just milk, the deal was off again. I know it has quite a bit of sugar in it, but we've been doing about 3/4 (or more) milk and 1/4 Pediasure, or more often the Parents' Choice and sluprs it all down now. :) Good luck.

J., I wish I had some advice for you, be glad he drinks milk? My little man will be 2 soon and he won't drink milk warm or cold since we took the bottle away. So I wish you luck...but it could be worse.
Have a great day

I had the same issue with my kids when they were young. I began warminng it a little and then just transitioned to 'taking the chill off' to taking it out of the fridge. That took about a week and a half with my kids. you might try giving him a "cold drink" to cool him off in the warmer weather, this might work a lot quicker where he will prefer the cold milk.

If you really want to know the truth, go to www.milksucks.com, and give him almond milk from now on for a much healthier child. They even sell it at Sam's now. I WAS a milk lover, so this was hard for me, but we are so glad we got the facts! (We still splurge on ice cream and aren't sticklers if at a friend's home, but we don't buy or drink milk at home.) Your son is smarter than you knew!!
