I just moved to Midland,TX and I am looking for a pediatrician. Any suggestions? I want someone dedicated and a doctor who I can call and not feel like I am imposing. I also do not want to have to wait a long time for appointments and I want a friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. Thanks.
Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, a lot of the doctors I have heard about - Reese and MacFerran are not taking new patients. Anyone heard of Watson, Readinger, Ballbsteros, Medina or Bowman? This is frustrating.
Interesting post. I've been meaning to do the same. We've been diagnosed with Down's and I am considering changing pedis myself. Hope you get some good recommendations.

I've used Dr. MacFerran & Midland Pediactrics for over 20 years. I like them alot but not sure if they have an open practice. Dr. Cochran & Dr. Bala are excellant family doctors as well.

We go to Dr. Debbie Reese, she is great. She can be dry, direct and to the point, she's all business but she's great. However, I think that she only accepts patients as newborns? I'm not sure though, you can call them ###-###-####. Also, I have several friends that see Dr. Sari Nabulsi and ###-###-#### and Dr. MacFerran is good at Midland Pediatrics but that office can be a nightmare, I've waited all day for a nurse to call me back only to tell me to call the next day etc. Just see if you can go in and meet them before you make a decision. I really hope you can get in to Dr. Reese.
We moved to Midland a year ago in December. I called every doctor on our insurance list and the only ones in town who were taking new patients were doctors Borne and Horne. Neither of which are very good. I would at least sign up to see them and then see if you can get some contacts who can get you in with another doctor. I highly recommend Nabulsi (sp) although wait times for sick appointments can be long.
Dr. Nabulsi is the best. I don't know if he is taking new patients or not though.
