Hey mamas, happy easter! so i am making those birds nest things today, i got butterscotch mosels and chow mein noodles, with little egg candies to put in them as well.

i know from my christmas candy-making attempts, that chocolate bark melts MUCH different from almond bark - and i've rarely had success with it.

how do butterscotch morsels do? can i microwave them or do i need to try the double-broiler method? any tips?

What can I do next?

I think when I did it I added a tiny bit of either oil or shortening to the morsels in the microwave. I heated them about 15-20 seconds, stirred, and heated again until they were melted. IF they were too dry or not smooth I added the tiniest bit of the oil.

Yes, a bit of oil makes them smooth in the microwave. About a Tablespoon to a bag, or you can try less.

Kinda late, but I do them in the micro too. No problems. :) Happy Easter!

I suggest a double boiler (ceramic top pan) or glass (pyrex bowl)
