First I wanted to thank everyone for all of their support/suggestions on my last thread. I waited until yesterday-tried to pay, got a free lawyer and we are waiting to see what happens-the landlord (i should have explained better-I am buying the trailer, renting the lot) would not take the money-however my lawyer says that because he gave a notice to quit-I had 3 (business) days to pay or I would have to leave. He thinks that because my landlord would not take the money and would not work out a deal that we will have to go to court, so I don't know what will happen for sure. I am scared because an eviction on your record can make it hard to rent-plus I think it is expensive to move a trailer (any ideas??) so I hope something good will happen-praying to God. Thank you all so much~any more suggestions would be great!

What can I do next?

I don't have any suggestion for the landlord situation, but wanted to tell you about a financial conference I heard about. It is in Boise Nov 1st. No charge to go, but you have to register so they have a head count. It might be something you are interested in. www.SmartWomenSmartMoney.com Good luck to you.

If it's a single wide, I really don't think you can move it. All single wides have been grandfathered into the new zoning rules. I used to live in one but I'm not 100% for sure if that's true or not. My landlord had to go though this stuff when her double side caught fire and she was offered a single wide to move on the lot. Good luck.

I spoke to someone who moved her trailer from Nebraska to Iowa and the community that she moved it to paid for the move. That could be something to look into it may require a long lease agreement or something but it can not hurt to ask around.

I am so sorry to hear about your situation. Debt can swallow anyone. I am a realtor and if there is anything I can help with, let me know. I know of people with a lot of rentals and I could see about moving trailers???
My prayers are with you.

I am a landlord. I don't own a trailer, but I think the rules are similar. After serving a 3 day notice to quit, a tenant has 3 days to pay. I think a landlord has to take payment in those 3 days, and if you explain that you tried to pay in court, you will probably win. Look up the Secretary of State website (I think it's Lawrence Wasden) and there are very specific landlord/tenant rules for trailers. Good Luck.

I got an eviction notice once a few years ago. I found did find an apartment, though I had to look at several. It also does not affect you credit report, except in the way of late payment on rent, which is easily fixed once you catch up and pay regularly again. I loved our new apartment 100 times more then the old place and a couple of years ago we bought a house. Good Luck--I hope this all works out.
