Ok- so I love making digital photobooks and I have made a few for my two year old. However, now I have a 5 month old and I don't know how I should do my photobooks. SHould I try and keep the books seperate or should I combine them?

I don't know if I want to keep them seperate so that I can give them their own books when they are older or if I plan on keeping them for me and let them sort them out when I am dead and gone- how morbid! But you know what I mean!

What would you do?

PS- I have made him his own handmade baby book and will do the same for her up to her first birthday.

What can I do next?

i have twins. every year (in June), I make their own photobooks. Sometimes I use some of the same photos because most of the time they are together. But each photobook is personalized. Then at the same time I print all of the photos from the previous year and make old fashioned albums (those will be for me). My kids get two photobooks each year (again, in June). One photobook is JaneDoe 2010 for example, and then that same person gets the photobook that contains everything related to school (holidays, activities, field trips etc). The other photobook contains photos for that Same JanedDoe from family trips, holiday, events etc. So two per year. I use shutterfly, and most of the time I only pay shipping. For example, a few weeks ago I ordered flip videos from bestbuy.com (two flip video, two separate orders) and got two codes for free photobooks from shutterfly valid until August 2012. So I will have two free photobooks that will be ordered in June.

I make each of my daughters a book on her birthday - that way I remember exactly what pictures to put in - the ones from her last birthday until this one. Some of the pictures will have both the girls in them, and I duplicate a bunch of the same pictures in each book. But that way they each have a book about them and what they did that year. I always end the book with that year's birthday party pictures.

The photo albums that my mom did were chronological with all of us in them. I plan to do the same.

There were 3 kids in my family and my Mom did a separate set of photo albums for each. Some photos were the same across all three sets of albums, but most were unique to each of us. I like the system - each book is kind of skewed to each kid, but we have a lot of fun looking at each other's too. If I had more than one child, I would probably do the same thing.

I always make 3 versions--dd, ds, and mine! I make one every 4 months or so, so the essence is the same for all, but then customize it (dd and I don't need 25 picts of ds bday party, only he is gonna care). dd is 13 and starting to make her own, too.

It is what you want to do and what you have time to do. I have done seperate handmade scrapbooks for each child. I was cropping this weekend and heard some women talking one did a book for each child until they were one others chimed in about doing each a school book for grade school, middle and high school.. there is no right or wrong... make a family book of holidays and vacations and seperate books for kids... how much work do you want to do? Have fun handmade or computer generated.

I do both, but I give them as gifts. I would keep them separate if you only do one that way one kids does not say.. hey there are none of just me..

We do scrap books and some pics have both of them, but overall I take enough photos of each kid.

I mix the pictures of all if keeping it, for one to give it's either of just them or everyone else.

I love making photo books too! I minored in photography and it's my passion. I always have at least one camera at the ready so I take a ton of pictures. I only have one child, but I have 4 nephews, 1 niece, 2 god daughters and 1 god son and I follow them around like the paparazzi! LOL. I usually make one for each kid, but I will include pictures of all of them in all the books. I tend to keep the yearly one individual but if we do something big, like Disneyland or something then I make one book for just that occasion. Christmas, Easter and big family functions- all get their own book and then my son's birthday gets it's own book. Then the individual ones include shots from the whole year. I'll make one book with all the kids for my grandparents as part of their christmas present (they love getting the books with all 5 great grandkids in it- I do a few pages of each kid separate then pages with all the kids together) Some I make digital, some I scrapbook. I love scrapbooking so when I can find the time I do it that way otherwise I'm a frequent shopper at Shutterfly =) lol. I think the contents of the book depends on the occasion of the book. But I can rest assured that when I die, no one will be wanting for pictures. Most of the time now I hear :not another picture =) LOL
