Just wanted to get some new lunch ideas for my 18 month old son. I feel like I need to change it up a bit and give him some new things so I just wanted to see what you moms serve for lunch. Thanks!!

I do those pick up pastas by Gerber, rolled sandwiches with meat and cheese, pizza, chicken nuggets, mac n cheese and left overs. Good Luck! My little guy is into the throwing everything on the floor if he doesnt want it or he is done!
my daughter is a tad quirky and gets bored easily. that being said, some of my tried and true standby's are
2 cheese sticks and fruit (apples, pears, whatever) - yes, i let her eat that much cheese!! (no, she is not constipated)
apples, peeled and sliced, dipped in PB (she does the dipping)
whole wheat bread with brummel and brown and fruit
yogurt with cheerios and banana's(or whatever she likes)
improvise, have fun
Quesadillas with cheese and a meat and veggie
Tuna noodles
Jazz up the macaroni and cheese favorite by adding cubed chicken and veggies
Butter noodles
Grilled meat and cheese sandwiches.
Try serving breakfast for lunch- waffles, pancakes, oatmeal.
I have found offering the same foods, but in a different way is exciting for my 19 month old. For example, an indoor picnic in her princess tent or eating at her art table.
I think maybe kids don't like it if you change it! If he is eating what you are serving, you're doing great! My son likes bean burritos with cheese and sour cream right now. Nothing else. He is five. He was a very very picky eater and underweight at that age, so I was just happy if he ate anything!

Here are a few things that my daughter enjoys:
Chicken tenders
Macaroni and cheese
Pizza (my daughter enjoys supreme with the veggies and meat)
Ravioli
Chicken noodle soup
Spaghetti
Spaghetti-O's
Broccholi or celery with ranch dressing or peanut butter (makes a good side item)
Tip:If you want him to try something new...sit down for your lunch at the same time and eat the same thing. This will help him to see that the food is something that you enjoy as well. Sometimes children find unfamiliar food scary because they are not sure how to eat it. If you set the example for them, they may follow. Children at this age are the best copy-cats. Give him something good to copy!
A really super book is Super Baby Food by Ruth Yaron. However, I would not microwave the food as she suggests, but instead warm on top of the stove in a glass bowl set inside a pan of water. The book includes every fine detail with loads of recipes and suggestions for healthy food. THe second book is Whole Foods for the Whole Family by LaLeche League. Have fun!
