My daughter, 9 months old, has been running a low grade fever for some days now and is showing no other symptoms, we have went to the doctor and are waiting on some test results, but as a worried mother i really need some help, please respond if you have any ideas for me as to what this could be! Doctor said ears are fine and not teething :(

What can I do next?

I think it is good that you took her to the doctor, and I hope everything comes back ok. Could it be teething? The doctor would say that teething would never cause fever or running nose, but it always did with my daughter. She ran fever and had a runny nose with every single tooth that popped through. I hope your baby is ok. Let us know what it turns out to be.

Hi R.
My son always had a low grade fever when he was teething. With every tooth the same cycle happened, runny nose, fever, a cough. I would start off and think ,yes this is teething, then it would continue where I would start getting worried and thinking it might be something else and then a tooth would appear.
Some children suffer really bad with teething so plenty of natural teething medicine and some child medicine for the fever.Don't let her overheat, the less clothes the better.
Best of luck with this

What is her temp? Has she been recently sick? Are you 100% positive that she isn't getting teeth, could you possibly be over dressing her, have you given her anything for it like tylenol/motrin and if you did do hey bring it down, does she go to daycare? I'm sure I could probably think of a few more questions to ask. I know they claim children don't get fevers with teething but our youngest got a fever with every tooth and it would last until it finally broke through.

I would say Roseola but usually that is a high fever for 2 days before the rash breaks out.

Fever is the body's way of increasing the rate of chemical reactions in the body- it is a brilliant way for the body to protect itself. Make sure you hydrate, and lots of rest while her body handles itself.
Check on her food , to make sure there is no problem challenge there- no soy for girls- ever- nursing best.
best, k
