You are pretty much screwed. I tried to figure out how to sugar coat that but that is pretty much all I could find.
Good morning ladies so i hope someone will be able to help me with my issue im having. OK so my husband purchased a old 92 ford truck from a lady last dec we paid 1500 for it. It only ran for maybe a month and the fuel pump went out so we never used it bc we already had two vehicles. We recieved the title when we bought it but we never had it registered into our name bc well money is tight plus we werent driving it bc it was broke down. So a year passes and we finally got the fuel pump fixed and we decided to give the truck to my lil brother so i go looking for the title and it is gone cant find it anywhere i thought it was in the glove box of the truck but hubby said he rememebers bringing it in and puttin it on the table well we have a toddler and he was going thru a throwing everything in the trash phase so im pretty sure it made its way to the dump yard. So i go to the local DMV to request a lost title when they look it up its not in my name which i knew but i cant register it into my name without the title and the lady we bought it from we cannot get ahold of her at all. Her business is shut down and i have left messages and am not getting a call back. DMV say that its registered still in north carolina so she never got it re-registered in texas when she moved. So what do i do? Any advice

Did you ask the people at the DMV? Sounds like they didn't answer your question if you did.
In Texas you can do a bonded title. My husband bought a motorcyle from a friend who was selling it on behalf of a client. The client lost the title but agreed to the sale. So my husband had to provide various documents proving he bought the motorcycle and was the rightful owner. I notice you are in Arkansas so I would presume they have something similar. The only snag I see is that Texas requires the vehicle last be registered in the state. You mention the vehicle was last registered in NC. We went to our county tax assessor's office who handles registration of vehicles. They walked us through the process and the necessary paperwork.
You get a bonded title. You pay $50 for a bond. You have to have the bond for a certain period of time. In Texas, I think it's 6 months. After that period of time, if no one has stepped forward to claim the car, you can file for a lost title.
