I think I am losing my mucus plug. But how do I know for sure? Also I have been having severe pressure in my lower stomach and pelvic area. Is this just the normal thing? How long after losing mucus plug did you go into labor. I go to my Dr. first thing in the am. I just would like a little heads up. TIA

What can I do next?

With my oldest I lost it the day before I had him. With my second (2 months ago) i didn't see it at all- and I was looking for it since I was past my due date. But it should be coming soon. Good luck and congrats!!

W/ both of mine, I didn't so much lose the plug as had lots of blood streaked mucus.
Labor started the same day.
Get your bag ready just in case!
GL! Congrats!!!

I lost my mucus plug and that SAME day, went into labor.
My daughter was born 1 week early.
My water never broke.
Doc had to do it.

You best make sure you have your hospital bag packed and anything else ready to go.
And let your Husband and Doctor know.

I think with both my babies I lost my mucus plug at least a full week before having the babies. Pressure is also normal. I remember telling my husband a few weeks before I had my girl to just be prepared because she was about to pop out at any moment because I was feeling so much pressure. But yeah, if you start losing any water then you need to get to the hospital.

When I lost mine it was pretty much like "what the hell?!" Then I remembered about the mucus plug...it was a lot of mucus. Gross. Anyway my water broke 3 days later.

With baby #2 I went into spontaneous labor and didn't lose the plug at home...don't know when it came out; they broke my water during labor.

sometimes you never know if you have lost it or not. I lost mine a week ago and still haven't gone into labor. Some times you could go into labor a day or two later. Time your pressure and see if it isn't really labor pain.

With my first I did not lose it until I was in labor at the hosiptal and at first thought my water broke (having no idea what that was like lol) with my second it came out but didn't seem to all at once and was a few weeks before I had to be induced. I dont think I lost it with my third! Good luck!

I didn't lose it early with my first two but with my last I started losing little bits at a time for about 2 weeks before I went into labor, I was also dialated at about 2 cm during that time.

With my 1st I lost my Mucus Plug and went into full labor and delivered 11 days later. With my 2nd I lost my mucus plug and never went into labor on my own. So really it's different for everyone and every pregnancy.

Ha! I lost my mucus plug and then my water started coming out. Called the doctor and told him I was not due for another 3 weeks, so I would let him know when I was having worse pains.. He told me to go on to the hospital.. I argued with him..

Had our girl the next day!!!

Call the Doc.. Now..

Ehhh.. I lost mine with my daughter about a week or two before. It certainly didn't mean imminent delivery for her. I don't recall losing it with my son, and he was 10 days late (not induced, completely unmedicated delivery begun without any interventions). Who knows? I thought maybe I just didn't notice it with him, but when I lost it with my daughter.. ewww.. gross... don't know how I couldn't missed THAT. lol

I would take the pressure you are having as more of a sign that things might be starting to pick up for you. :)
