Hey Mama's!

I am wondering if anyone has any safe plans to follow that I would be able to lose 10 pounds in 10 days. We have a wedding to attend & the dress I want to wear for rehearsal is a little snug. That is what I get for waiting until the last minute to try it on. I don't have the extra $$ to go out & buy a new dress. Any suggestions?

Try the Lemon aide diet. It worked for me. If you have more time the Zone is wonderful life changing way to eat.

that is quick but I lost 15 lbs in a month by eating a lot of salad and fresh fruits and veggies and walking 2 miles at least 3 times a week. Our salad consist of lettuce, purple cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, red, green, or yellow peppers, carrots, 7 slices of cucumbers, 1 boiled egg or 2 boneless/skinless chicken tenders, and less than 1 tsp salad dressing which I don't care for a lot of dressing so that wasn't a problem for me to cut back on. You can eat a lot of salad and be surprised at how filling it is. Cutting out cheese and a lot of carbs out of our eating habits helped a lot. Also limited eating at restaurants to maybe once a week or less and when we did eat out we either shared meals or brought half of it home to eat for another meal as they are usually high enough in calories to cover 2-3 meals. If we did eat a big meal for dinner we would think ahead and eat less calories for breakfast and lunch. I usually ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast, big salad for lunch with some fruit, salad and maybe a piece of baked or BBQ chicken for dinner and fresh fruit. Don't eat the canned fruits and veggies, they have a lot of added sugars, sodium, and preservatives that have more calories in them.

Try replacing some meals with water-based foods, like soups or fruits like watermelon. I wouldn't recommend exclusively eating water-based foods, but I'm thinking that it can put a dent in calorie intake if you opt for soups that are more brothy rather than creamy or hearty. I'm not a medical doctor, I'm just letting you know what's worked for me. All I know is that when I get sick, I try eating foods that I can keep down, like cucumbers and pears, and I lose weight rapidly, but my metabolism is pretty quick too. So, I'm not saying to drastically cut down on calories, but rather to be more healthy and selective about foods. Also, don't replace all of your meals, just start out doing it for lunch or dinner and see if that works. If you eat only water-based foods, I think you might get diarrhea and make yourself sick, so take it slow like I said. This is just a suggestion, so I recommend that you check with your physician to make sure that it would be okay before altering your diet. Drinking lots of water helps digestion too, so don't forget about getting your 8 glasses of water in. Good luck!

Not sure if you can lose 10 pounds, but you can slim down a little! First, be sure to get a body slimmer--I think Spanx are great. They come in many different styles (tights/panty hose, girdles, etc.), so find one that really sucks you in all over--be sure to get one that goes all the way up to your breasts, so you don't get little fatty overhangs.

I would do Pilates moves for your tummy--lots of them--in combination with as much cardio work as possible--even just walking very fast will burn a lot of calories. Walking and running 1 mile will burn 100 calories, so you could burn 400+ in 1 hour if you walk fast enough.

I wouldn't starve yourself, but the advice below about cutting out all sugar and processed foods (especially simple carbs) is essential. Just keep yourself full enough of veggies to keep from getting too desperate for food.

Definitely KEEP A FOOD JOURNAL!!! Write down everything you eat and drink and the calories (use calorieking.com or another calorie counting web site). Depending on your size, you probably burn about 1500 calories in a day normally. If you lower your calories to 1200 (enabling you to still eat enough to be healthy) and up your calorie burn to 2000 or more, you can lose a significant amount of weight quickly. Good luck--I know you can do it!

No Caffine, no salt, and take baths with apple cider vinegar added to your water, it will help take the extra water off and you'll lose quite a bit. I had a girlfriend who was getting married and when i altered her dress I told her be careful, we can't put it back! This worked to get her in that dress!

Good luck, the things we women do to ourselves!

When I need to drop a few extra pounds quickly and safely I use Dr. Ian Smith's plan (he's the Dr. on VH1's Celebrity Fit Club) His book is called the Fat Smash Diet. Long story short - the first 9 days are called "detox". I usually lose 8-10# in those days. I have followed the remainder of the diet afterward with success. When the pounds try to creep back(especially around the holidays) I go back to phase 1 (detox) and they come right back off. I bought the book on Amazon.com for like $6. The detox phase is HARD as you can pretty much only eat fruits and vegetables w/ a cup of oatmeal and 2 cups of brown rice per day. (no sugar, caffeine, artificial sweeteners, bread/gluten, meat or fish). The only dairy allowed is 4 egg whites daily and 2 cups of skim milk. After 4-5 days though, your body has adjusted and it becomes MUCH easier. Let me know if you just want me to write it for you and send it...Good luck!

Gaining muscle and losing fat is the best way to lose actual size. But water weight helps too. If I were you I would buy about 4 boxes of the Metamucil cookies and munch them constantly over the next 10 days with lots and lots of water. You'll have some gas pains and it won't be fun. But your intestines will get nice and cleaned out slowly and not cause you too much trouble. Just spread these cookies out and stay close to home or facilities when you can.

At the SAME time, do as much weight training as you can and a lot of walking too. If you write everything down and eat right at 1200 calories per day, you'll lose probably around 6-8 pounds in 2 weeks and you'll lose any bloat and water too.

Good Morning T., take your dress with you and go try on one of those Body slimmers. I don't think there is any safe way to loose that amount of weight in that amount of time. The body slimmers are supposed to make it look like you lost 2 dress sizes. So take your dress and try it. I didn't look to see where you lived, but if you have a Cato's or Burlington Coat Factory they carry them.

Have fun at the wedding

Drop all carbs from your diet...... no sugar, no bread type products. Eat all meats, eggs, cheeses, green leafy veggies. No sugar in your tea, no sugar loaded sodas. You can have diet drinks, but drink plenty of water to prevent constipation. You can lose more than 10 pounds in two weeks if you follow this plan to the "T" with exercise once a day for at least 30 minutes (some type of cardio).

I'd recommend contacting a spa nearby and seeing if they do any of the body wraps that eliminate the toxins...it also helps take out any extra water weight...I've heard people lose like 4" on it...granted it's not a permanent thing but it would do the trick for the weekend!

Other than that, drop your caloric intake, up your water and take the kids on some strolls around the block...them them they are plotting their Halloween trail this year! LOL...that way you wear them out and get the exercise you need! ;)
